A Total Conversion Mod for Crusader Kings II

Download A Game of Thrones v0.9.6 (Windows exe): HERE (mirror)
Download A Game of Thrones v0.9.6 (Mac / Linux / zipped files): HERE (mirror)

Checksum: FLDW
Compatible with: CK2 2.3.6
Warning: This is a BETA version, so it might (in fact, it will most likely) contain bugs and unfinished features!

In a land where summers last for years and winters last for decades, nine great families struggle for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Take control of a noble house, from the Starks of Winterfell to the Lannisters of Casterly Rock, and win the Iron Throne!

But remember, winter is coming.

Mac/Linux/Zipped files warning: The mod files must be copied to <Your Documents>/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/mod folder. We also recommend any previous mod files in this folder are deleted before copying the new version. Windows users have been provided with an installer that performs this function automatically, while Mac users can find detailed installation instructions in the manual

Warning: This mod is likely to be incompatible with 32bit systems with low memory. We recommend at least 4GB of memory on a 64bit system.

If you want to avoid certain A Dance with Dragons spoilers in pre-AFFC scenarios install the following sub-mod:DOWNLOAD

But my current glorious Targ session...

Also: inb4 Stannis gets slain in personal combat after 4 minutes into the game :D

Booted up the new version, for the first time ever started out as Joffrey "Cockbag" Lannister.
Suddenly, Daenerys dies, I inherit her army and a castle at the bottom end of Seven-knows-where.
SUDDENLY, Dany's dragons settle in King's Landing and every single man in my court tries to defeat them, either dying horribly or getting maimed.

...
......
...........

10/10 would play again.

The revolt risk associated with Lack of Funds (which occurs everywhere thanks to the AIs inability to balance their bank, they go into negatives when they have no reason to) makes playing in a large realm a total chore. The issue is that every level of ruler is checked for the malus, so even if the king is doing fine a high lord can go into debt and trigger a revolt. Or vice versa, peasants will riot over a king who they will never meet or be impacted by in peacetime going into debt.

I've been playing for 3 years and I've seen 5 peasant revolts. This isn't a challenge, it's just tedious. It's made even worse by the fact that the AI still has no clue how to effectively move it's armies when dealing with spawned revolts. When more than one is spawned I see Iron Throne doomstacks moving across the kingdom instead of moving two provinces east and stomping out the last revolt there.

This version is barely playable because of this issue, at least make the Crushed Revolt bonus stack so we get something of a reprieve.

And it's only going to get worse and children come of age and educations/dowries need to be paid for. I get that the Seven Kingdoms can be somewhat unstable, especially during wartime, but this is just out of hand.

Wow, I'm so glad I check this forum today. I'd assumed there'll be no more new releases till the DLC comes out. This is a nice surprise.

If it is the way you described it, a hotfix would be nice before I finally start to play.

I believed I've encountered a particularly odd bug in this build.

I am running 0.96 and the GoT unit mod. The bug in question seems to be something to do with Lannisters for some reason, particularly the children of the ruler. I do not know the cause, but when they have kids, the ruler of the westerlands will have their child appear with drowned god religion. Even if both parents are faith of the seven. No one's educating them either, its like that at birth.

Has anyone else had an alarming high amount of gender law changes in the iron throne ? I currently have a Targaryen queen on the iron throne ( Ai controlled ) with 5 sons, and she keeps changing the law between agnatic and agnatic-cognatic about once every year ( leading to all the vassals having several hundred negative opinion of her ).

Strange thing happened, started the Roberts rebellion scenario with Iron Islands, Robert Baratheon dies in 2 weeks through personal combat with some random guy, Stannis takes the mantle of rebellion.
Stannis usurps the Iron Throne and the Reach, Dorne, Westerlands and Iron Islands becomes part of the Yi Ti empire! wtf just happened?

Yeah strange things are happening in this version.

Was playing as Dany and had just conquered Mereen. All of sudden the Masters of Mereen joined into the war of the Iron Throne. Two weeks later my new liege was the King of the Iron Isles. As was Dorne, all of the Andals, Bravos, Pentos...

Meanwhile Ghiscar, Astapor and Yunkai also had a new liege, The North.

Uhm.

Aside from weird Lannister ironborn children, it's actually the most stable version in quite a long time. Played 70 years in a Stannis campaign, no crashes, even though my pc it's not that advanced anymore.

Very good to play this properly again.

Are you using any submods

In the A feast for crows scenario, the Greyjoys suddenly became kings of all of Westeros, somehow, (it's stupid, I was using the North, they never invaded me, why should I be their vassal now?) and in the Clash of Kings scenario the Vale suddenly became part of Yi Ti.

Are you using any submods

The building overhaul mod and the bloodlines mod. But it seems that others are having these issues as well. Update on the YiTi game, the Chinese emperor dies and all the 7 Kingdoms become independent (i.e. The Rock, The Trident etc.). 2 years later Dorne suddenly becomes part of the Kingdom of the Trident and the YiTi again become overlords of the Vale.
