Multiplayer is Broken

Before sunflower I could join any server and host, now I cant do anything, no servers even apear

Doesn't work on any of the old patches at all either now, my multiplayer Is just gone, I've reinstalled relogged everything. Its just a empty GUI

That must be frustrating.

Others have had similar problems, too. It is associated with having mods (for example, I believe that August Storm is not compatible with Sunflower)

One solution is to delete the contents of the saved file.

Not being able to play multiplayer is tough, especially if you've arranged to host a game.

My dlc is littreally gone from my game launcher.

Sounds like a big disappointment. Apparently, you are not alone. Here are some postings from fellow gamers with better insights and perspectives about predicaments similar to yours:

Yes i fixed it, you must uninstall the game and delete the paradox folder in your documents as this will delete mods which clash with base game after clean install and join games

You probably don't need to uninstall the game, but some of the mods (like the August Storm) place extra files in the Documents/Paradox/HOI4 directory, which will modify the checksum of your game until they're removed. For the AS specifically it's a 'map' sub-folder and its content; possibly some others, too.

Complete removal of all files like 4 times

Try deleting the Hoi folder in /My Documents/Paradox Entertainment/

Not having this issue myself, despite adding and removing mods depending on save and style of play.

Did you do a integrity check of the game files in Steam?

I had the same trouble just today, my first multiplayer game after the patch. I could not join a multiplayer game. No multiplayer games were displayed in the MP lobby. There was no "refresh internet" button on the screen.

The game would start up, then crash to desk top.

1. I tried to join the host's game via Steam. No luck.

2. The host invited to play via Steam. No luck.

3. I deleted all HoI4 files. No luck

4. I removed HoI4 and reinstalled. No luck.

5. A team mate suggested, "drop out of steam and re-enter steam".

#5 worked.

We had a good multiplayer game...what a fun game!

In future:

1- post such issues in Tech Support, not in the general forum. That is why you got no official responses. You would in fact have seen other people with similar issues there, and the exact fix you ended up finding yourself.

2- do not swear in these forums for any reason. This is one of the rules you agreed to follow when you signed up here. Next time there will be infractions handed out.
