Today we'd like to harness that creativity in this brand new competition; The challenge, build a city that when zoomed out paints the Cities: Skylines Logo. In order to achieve this, you may represent it in any way you see fit, we urge you to be as creative as possible and try to create something truly unique with a quite firm framework!
Here's a few examples we created internally to spark your imagination!
All submissions will be judged on the following points by us internally at Paradox Interactive:
- Accuracy (for the logo)
- Creativity
- Craftsmanship
- Entrants must be at least 18 years old due to the nature of the first prize
- By entering this competition, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this competition. (see below)
- All Entries must be posted to this forum thread
- The competition will run from March 16, 2018, until April 9, 2018 Midnight CEST.
- The winners will be announced on April 13th, 2018 at the end of our weekly Cities Stream (around 15:55 CEST).
- All mods are allowed except for those who include other trademarks or brands.
- If a mod has been used in the Entry, this must be provided to Paradox at the point of submission of the Entry in form of a workshop URL gathering all mods and assets present in the build
- A single player can submit any number of cities but can only run for one price!
- Each entry must provide a save game and up to 3 screen grabs (one must display the logo from above) as well as a link to all mods used so that we may open the map.
- Save games may either be uploaded directly to the forums or linked from the workshop, as long as we can access it, it's fine!
Now for the fun part, the Prizes!

By entering this competition, you agree to be bound by these rules.
The Contest is sponsored by Paradox Interactive AB. (“Paradox”).
Eligibility: The Contest is open only to individuals who are at least 18 years of age.
Paradox reserves the right to verify the eligibility of the Entrants.
Contest Period: The entry period for the Contest starts at 2018-03-16 (“Start Time”) and ends at 23:59 on 2018-04-09 (the “Entry Deadline”). All times are in CET. The time beginning at the Start Time and ending at the Entry Deadline is the “Submission Period”. All entries must be received during the Submission Period to be eligible to win.
How to Enter: Each person entering the Contest (“Entrant”) must enter the Contest by creating a town in Cities: Skylines® that resembles the Cities: Skylines® logo (“Entry”) and submit it to Paradox. Each Entry must provide the saved game containing the relevant version of the submitted city and up to three (3) screenshots of the submitted city with at least one (1) screenshot where the logo is visible.
The Entrant may submit any number of Entries but is only eligible for winning one prize. Mods are accepted but must follow Paradox’s Mod Policy found on www.paradoxplaza.com under legal information. If a mod has been used in the Entry, this must be provided to Paradox at the point of submission of the Entry. Any Entry that displays other trademarks or in any way breaches our policies or these terms, will be disqualified from the Contest and ineligible from Prizes (as defined below).
Judging Criteria: Five (5) winners will be selected.
The judging will be done in Paradox’s sole discretion. The decisions of the judges regarding this Contest are final and binding in all respects.
Prizes:
The winners selected will be awarded prizes (“Prizes”).
The prize for the person who wins first prize will consist of an economy flight ticket, central hotel stay and a King entrance ticket for PDXCON 2018 on the 17th-19th of May 2018, in Stockholm, Sweden.
The Prize for the following four (4) winners will consist of one (1) DLC of the Entrant’s choice.
Prizes are non–transferable and there is no cash alternative. If the cost of the flight ticket and hotel stay would exceed the amount of 2 000 EUR, the exceeding cost will be covered by the first-prize winner or the first-prize winner must regretfully forfeit the prize in which case Paradox will compensate with up to five (5) games or DLCs of choice. All taxes, insurances, transfers, spending money and other expenses (including meals or personal expenses upgrades etc.) as the case may be, unless specifically stated, are the sole responsibility of the prize winner.
The Prize winners will be announced on Facebook, Twitch and Paradox’s forums and will be asked to contact Paradox. If a winner fails to contact Paradox within five (5) days, that Entrant will be notified on the channel through which the Entry was submitted and the winner will lose the prize. In the event that any Entrant is disqualified from the Competition, Paradox may decide, in its sole discretion, whether a replacement should be selected. In this event, any further Entrant will be selected on the same criteria as the original Entrant and will be subject to these Rules.
In the event of a dispute about the identity of the Entrant, Entries will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the Social Media Site account (or email address) used for the Entry. A winner may be required to provide Paradox with proof that he or she is the authorized account holder of the account and/or email address associated with the winning Entry. All Prizes are awarded “as is” and without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
Contest Rules: In order to be eligible, your Entry must adhere to these Official Rules as well as the following:
The person who wins first place in the competition must hold a valid ID/passport and or/visa (if applicable) to be able to enter the competition, if this is required to be able to travel to Stockholm, Sweden. By entering this competition, you hereby warrant that you are eligible to enter.
Your Entry must adhere to Paradox's Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, Rules of Conduct and our Mod Policy available on www.paradoxplaza.com and must not contain (i) content abusive and/or disrespectful towards other people, (ii) obscene, vulgar, and inappropriate text/images, or (iii) content inappropriate based on sexuality, gender identity, ethnicity, religion or other beliefs, disability, or age.
Entrant consents to the fact that in connection with the Contest Paradox will handle personal data (such as Entrant's name, email address, Social Media Site name or handle, physical address, likeness) relating to the Entrant for the purpose of administrating the Contest. In addition, Entrant consents to giving Paradox the right to use the Entries, together with the Entrant’s name, for any Entrant related purposes without further permission or compensation.
Each Entry must be Entrant's own original work and cannot infringe on the copyrights or other intellectual property rights of another individual, corporation or entity, and Entrant hereby grants to Paradox a non-exclusive, perpetual, transferable, irrevocable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, and worldwide license to use, modify, reproduce, publish, perform, display, distribute, make derivative works of and otherwise commercially and non-commercially exploit all content submitted by Entrant in any manner or medium now existing or hereafter developed, without separate compensation to Entrant or any other person or entity. Paradox, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person that it determines has violated these Official Rules, or has tampered with the entry process or the operation of Paradox's or any Social Media Site's web site or service. Paradox further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify this Contest if it is not capable of completion as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, force majeure or technical failures or difficulties of any sort.
Social Media Site Disclaimer: No Social Media Site shall be responsible in any way for any aspect of the Contest nor shall any Social Media Site have any liability with respect to the Contest. The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by any Social Media Site or any other third party platform. Please contact Paradox with any questions about this Contest. Please do not direct any communications about this Contest to any Social Media Site or any other third party platform.
General Release: By entering the Contest, you release Paradox and all Social Media Sites and any of its or their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents from any liability whatsoever, and waive any and all causes of action, related to any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Contest or delivery, mis-delivery, acceptance, possession, use of or inability to use a Prize (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, losses and damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction of property, whether intentional or unintentional), whether under a theory of contract, tort (including negligence), warranty or other theory.
General Terms and Conditions: The Contest and these Official Rules will be governed, construed and interpreted under the laws of Sweden without regard to its conflict of law principles. This Contest is subject to all applicable laws and is void where prohibited. Any provision of these Official Rules deemed unenforceable will be enforced to the extent permissible, and the remainder of these Official Rules will remain in effect. Paradox shall not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete, damaged or misdirected entries and accepts no responsibility for any injury, loss or damage of any kind resulting from an Entrant's participation in this Contest. Paradox reserves the right to amend these Official Rules or to terminate this Contest. These Official Rules may be changed at any time, but only by Paradox and only by posting new rules on Paradox's web site (including the user forums). These Official Rules will not be construed to impose upon Paradox any obligations for any losses, debts or other obligations incurred by any Contest participant. By entering, Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of Paradox, which are final and binding in all respects.
