German AAR: The war has begun.

Ante bellum.

1939, Germany has annexed Czechoslovakia and Austria.
Our industries were powered up in 1936-1938 and we have plenty of IC. The Fuhrer hoped more, but this is the best we can get at the moment.
We are preparing for war. French line of defense, and polish line of attack is ready.

We have ordered 9 SS divisions to help us advance in France, once the time comes.

We also have ordered interceptors and CAS to help us with Poland and France. And if they survive, they will see the use in the operation Sealöwe.

New Naval bombers were designed, Fuhrer was happy with them and Göering ordered 2 divisions to help the Kriegsmarine.

(Editor note: i forgot about this event until it was already February, i had to act fast before winter)
The Molotov-Ribbentrop pact was put to use when Fuhrer had the urge to conquer Poland, this was the beginning of his needs for Lebensraum.

Before anyone heard about the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, Herr Adolf sent an ultimatum to Poland, either stop oppression of German people in Danzig, or the German people themselves will liberate it!

Ribbentrop crashed to Fuhrer's office, saying that the poles refused to stop oppression in Danzig!
The Fuhrer sighs, and says: "The second Great War has begun."
Fuhrer orders both air and land units ready for immediate attack.


Bella, detesta matribus.

Order of bombing all polish land is put to action.

The offensive to strike at Warsaw is going well, thanks to our Panzer Korps.
But in Allenstein, we are attacked by 21 divisions! A huge number, we never thought the poles could get this many men so fast.

Our panzerkorps have made good progress, we are attacking Warsaw already!
We have attacked Gdynia to help our troops in Allenstein, which is currently being taken back by troops in Elbing and Tilsit.

Fuhrer calls for immediate counter attack.
Allenstein has been retaken.

We have surrounded the troops in Stettin, the blitzkrieg is going on with good progress.
Poles have retaken Allenstein with superiour numbers again, fuhrer is not happy.

Soviets are helping with steady speed, we can soon begin transporting troops to the French line.
Fuhrer is pleased that even though our troops were not expecting an attack order so suddenly, we have still made good progress.

The war continues on.

Elbing and Allenstein have been captured, but they left Suwalki unguarded. This is our chance to pay the poles back for embarassing us so many times at Allenstein.

We are attacking Elbing and Allenstein from almost every direction possible, theres no chance of them winning!

We can now send all of the troops to the French defensive line.
Fuhrer is letting the Soviets annex Poland so that they will be remembered as the Warmongerers who annexed Poland.

What is this?! Coward Soviets have made peace with the Poles, it is now our job to annex them.
We have sent an division to deal with Lomza.
Fuhrer is angry for betraying German people, but since it is easy to regain a city without defense, Fuhrer forgives the Soviets. This one time.

After conquering Poland, we need more oil against France! Fuhrer has ordered to stockpile on oil.
We are trading oil from Ecuador from time to time with some useless old blueprints.
"One man's trash, one man's treasure" Says Von Ribbentrop.

Fuhrer has ordered an change of plans.
We are invading Norway and Denmark. Fuhrer has ordered the 3 SS Divisions to help the Panzer, Heer and SS Alpenjäger divisions. (Editor's note: I just realized that i should have named them battalions or something else atleast. As i am calling 3 divisions 1 division. Doesnt really matter though)

The new Kriegsmarine Bombers have arrived! Fuhrer believes that with Naval bombers we can achieve naval superiority against the British fleet!

Even though the winter was settling in, attack was ordered on Strasbourg. Believe it or not, we are storming through the Maginot line.
(I haven't tried many times, but i would say everytime i try to invade french through Netherlands and Belgium, it always stops at Belgium's forts and french superiour numbers.)

Operation Weseruebung is put to full play. Reich thinks that it will take around 5 days to conquer Denmark.

Well this is a pity. We will not forget this Sweden!

Apparently, Denmark has surrendered. The Danes lasted 2 days.
Fuhrer is amazed and says that if norway will fall in a week, all of the men are getting a 5 day holiday. This boosts the morale of the units.

Our losses are surprising however, over 200 000 lost with the invasion of Poland.

This is the third time we are trying to do an landing on Norway, this is starting to get embarassing, luckily Goebbels is an expert on covering things like these up.

Strasbourg has fallen, we are now attacking Metz!

After losing our transports (more got lost after this one) an amphibious assault wasnt an option anymore.

New transport flotillas were ordered, but they would take too long.

Fuhrer has ordered all troops to move to Copenhagen, Reich says that it's so that the troops can help people of Copenhagen who are still scared of Germans.
We don't want our people to be scared of us, says Fuhrer. We will show them that we are peace loving people! We are forced to do this, only because Poland refused to give Danzig.​

At the Nuremberg Trials, German military commander Alfred Jodl said that "if we did not collapse already in the year 1939 that was due only to the fact that during the Polish campaign, the approximately 110 French and British divisions in the West were held completely inactive against the 23 German divisions.

General Siegfried Westphal stated, that if the French had attacked in force in September 1939 the German army "could only have held out for one or two weeks."

Well I like it, it's a nice change from others AARs
(Even if I do believe that in reality it would have failed, Maginot Line was actually great... it just had a huge gap.)

I don't know much about the real maginot line, but maybe the attack right on maginot line would have indeed failed in real life. But in the game, i can attack from 2 provinces to 1 maginot province, and i often have around 20-30 divisions for province, so that's around 40-60 divisions attacking 1 province, other supporting and other attacking.

it takes a long time for the maginot province to fall, but once 1 province is captured, it gets significantly easier. And the reason why i always do that is because i never get enough troops to invade benelux .

Very often it has gone all wrong because french and british troops help belgium, and belgium with its forts is hard. netherlands is quite easy to get, just blitz it before brits get to it. But i never make it past belgium. ( Or do i? ) And Eugenisio, indeed the name is a bit blunt, shame i can't edit it. I would have renamed it The second great war has begun. Not really that great either, but it's better than the other (i'm not very good with names )

Also about manpower, whenever i enact partial mobilization i get around 4000 manpower which is huge to me, and i never ran out. if im nearing to a 1000 manpower i just enact general mobilization and it jumps to 7000. I have never fully ran out of manpower.

Also i made this so you people can see a bit how i play and help me improve. However *SPOILER ALERT* this game has gone almost like NEVER BEFORE! it reminds me of my first games when i didn't know how to control tech teams or update troops or make troops. And well, all because i attacked the maginot line right on.

War has been declared on neutral Sweden. Sweden was not prepared for this, their defenses were weak and Germany saw this as an chance to increase their IC and attack Norway easily.
Finland can only watch, as her helper, Sweden, perishes in flames. Finland suffered heavy casualties in the winter war, and the German army is superiour to the Finnish army.
Stalin was once caught quoting Hitler as a " Warmongerer, whose hunger for war will eventually kill him."

Sweden was being invaded fast, swedes had little to no time to move their troops from the northern border. Norway cannot help, as it is too busy moving its troops to the border of Sweden, soon to be German owned.

Hungary has been invited to alliance, as Hitler needs troops to quickly defeat the French at the maginot line.
Hungarians send most of their troops to help.

The worst case scenario, which was formerly depicted as "impossibility" is coming true.
The French have pushed our army out of Freiburg and Strasbourg with overwhelming power, we need to attack Metz to quickly surround them!

As our forces are at Karlsruhe, they cannot attack Konstanz, knowing this, the French only send a few divisions to attack Austria. Tubingen and Strasbourg are under attack as Metz could not be broken. Are the end times knocking on our doorstep? Have we already lost the war?

Fuhrer orders 20 Militia divisions to help against the upcoming times.

Finally, We have breached into Norway, this shouldn't take much longer and we can send our troops to aid against French.

Stuggart was captured by the French, then recaptured, and once again it got overrun by the overwhelming French.

We have to deny the Hungarian request, as we need troops to aid against French.
Shortly after this, Romania was invited to the alliance. Romania joined.

Sweden had been annexed, most troops from Sweden are coming to help against french, who are invading us with the speeds of an automobile.

Germany has no intentions of creating puppet states, as it needs all the possible IC against French, and upcoming operation Barbarossa.

With Norway annexed, all divisions except 3 mountain divisions, guarding the beaches, are coming to aid.
The Panzer divisions, for faster deployement will be moved by sea.
France has invaded most of Austria, Baden-Württemberg and soon Bavaria.

British fleet attacked and destroyed our fleet of 3 transport divisions, battleships, cruisers and other flotillas.
The 3 panzer divisions sank with the transport divisions. The remaining panzer division is now coming by land, as Germany no longer wants to risk anything like this happening again.

With the panzer division arrived, it can help us quickly counter-attack other small attacks from France.
Fuhrer believes in total victory, setbacks like these, will never make Germany lose, it will only make the will of the people stronger.

Even though the propaganda machines had told the people that setbacks like these, will be defeated, there is always a chance they will not be defeated.
Fuhrer had lost sleep because of this, he wasn't thinking straight anymore.
Suddenly, he realized a hole in the French defense, had the germans attacked Maginot line and cutting it off, OR attacking Tubingen and Konstanz and cutting that off, Germany could wipe off most, of its most significant enemy by pocketing them into austria.
The plan was to be immediatly put to practice. However, it was winter and the attacks made little to no success.


Will this be the end of Germany? Will the militia divisions arrive in time? The thoughts in the Fuhrer's heads terrified him.
He tried to not think of this as he tried to sleep, without success. The doctors had to prescribe medicines for him to help him sleep.
