Hello! I've been playing Crusader Kings 2 for years and have never had this problem until this last round of DLC (Reaper's Due, Monks & Mystics.) Basically, when I'm playing games after a few saves I get the pop-up message "Error writing save file, make sure you have enough memory/no incorrect characters." I'll also get random crashes during auto-saves when the error is not running.

My Laptop PC specs are: Intel Core i7 processor, Q840 @ 1.87gHz
4GB RAM
32bit OS x64bit based-processor
Windows 10 and I have 167gigs of free space on my Hard drive

I've tried a full re-install, saving to the steam cloud, saving locally and nothing works. Let me know what else I can do to troubleshoot.

Thanks!

This is caused by running the game under 32bit Windows, which restricts the game to only 2gb of memory - not enough since recent patches.

Use this workaround:
1: Open Command Prompt
2: Set it to be in Admin mode http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc947813(v=ws.10).aspx
3: Paste this in: bcdedit /set increaseuserva 2560
4: Restart
5: If you ever need to undo: BCDEdit /deletevalue increaseuserva

Note this reduces the memory available to Windows itself, so may affect overall performance. When you go to 64bit Windows the problem will go away and you won't need that workaround.
