This Saturday I'll be kicking off my Tabletop version of the Arano Campaign.
Have 12 players lined up (Actually had too many folks want to join in, so I had to limit it to the veterans of my game group.) Will be a once a month event. I'll be running the "Bad Guys". We will be using the Alpha Strike Rules to keep the gameplay simple and playable in an evening with this number of units on the board.
Each player will be running a single mech. I've painted up a company of mechs in "House Arano" colors for our First Mission..."The Coronation March". Mostly Light mechs, nothing over 40 tons.
Table setup for the first game...6' x' 8' table. Player will come in on the road to the lower right and see the buildings smoking just like in the PC game.
Plan is to run it once a month for a year, playing the "Story" missions. Sprinkling in "Salvage" from side missions between game sessions so they can upgrade their mechs.
Things I'll be adjusting for the player count.
Players will get a Union Class Dropship to start, rather than Leopard. Had to do this so they could transport all 12 of the player mechs. Rather than salvage the Argo, I'll have them Salvage a Tracker Class Corvette Warship. Lets them keep the Union to use for missions, and gives them a place to store salvage and repair mechs like they could on the Argo. Still in the process of building the Union Class Dropship...as the Story missions need a Union Class on the table in at least 3 of them.
If you are interested in more details you can see the open Google Folder here where I've added backstory, expanded the Espinosa Family, store the spreadsheets to track the campaign progress, added in Player Abilities to mirror those you can earn in the PC game...

Wish me luck...
