Greeting Fellow Darkest Hour enthusiasts!

Myself and my team proudly present to you guys an upcoming project, a Timeline 191 mod for Darkest Hour! Based on the popular Alternate History books written by Harry Turtledove.

Timeline 191 recruitment poster.png

Recruitment is open for many spots including

Event Writers

Graphical Experts (should be able to both make graphics like event pics, propaganda posters as a well as those able to tweek photos. )

Creative Consultants

Coders for in game stuff

Testers for later

What is Timeline 191 you might ask? It takes place in a world where the CSA wins the American Civil War where the messenger does not lose special order 191 (hence the name of the series). Later in the 19th Century the CSA bought Sonora and Chihuahua from the broke Mexican Empire. This sparks the Second Mexican War which ironically does not directly involve Mexico. Fast forward to The Great War. The USA and CSA are both dragged into the war, The US sides with Germany and the Central Powers, while the CSA sides with the Entente. Despite fighting with much determination and a revolt in Utah, the Entente are defeated. This leads to the rise of the far right in France, the UK and the CSA. This scenario starts in 1933.

I've been doing some minister pictures for the mod, and I would absolutely appreciate suggestions as to who should "play" each of the fictional characters mentioned in the novels.

For example, the current face for Jake Featherston, the President of the Confederate States and arguably the main villain of the series, is that of the actor Donald Sutherland:

I think there was a mod about this timeline many years ago. You should contact the creator of it and use the completed materials. It would speed up your work.

I actually suggested the same, but he was categorically not interested.

@Tommy Vercetti Cool, man.
Looking forward to it. Love to do some events for the mod sometime. And since you're using the E3 mod, I think some of the Back in the USSA assets would work well too.

I wish you luck, but that idea sounds a bit to ambitious. I saw so many similar projects die shortly after announcement.

So, instead of doing massive total conversion like Kaissereich, maybe you could do something smaller, like playable CSA in vanilla DH 1933 start, with cool immersive alt-history decisions and events? You could use content from that book and similar mods that I saw few years ago. It could work, think about it.

I have high hopes for doing an adaptation of this interesting timeline.

Here is the Bahamas under US occupation

Quebec.png

While the Dominion of Canada is long gone by 1933 in TL-191, Quebec has been a country of its own since 1917. Their navy is nothing much to write home about, but their small army could swell significantly, should the need arise.

A small French language tip: both Armée and Marine are female nouns, thus they should be followed by Québécoise (the final E marking the female in most cases) here. :)
Thanks man. My French isn't all that good, only took one course of it in school, in contrast to the ~15 courses of German I did.

I'm a big fan of Turtledove and his work so of course I'm looking forward to watching the development of this mod. Not a fan of the E3 map but ah well whatever works best for you guys.

As the mod takes North America as an important setting, it would be nice if they put events in Mexico like a revolution or a civil war. perhaps socialist or a fascism that seeks to recover the territories sold. and with USA and CSA intervening.
I would gladly help you with leaders or events for this. the only thing is that my english is basic.
Buena suerte en su proyecto
