Come on? Sue me? It might not hole up in court. But seeing how thing are these days.... *cough* megaupload *cough* 50 years in prison *cough* what a joke *cough* *cough* I thank i'm getting sick!

I think its so if i do they can come and find me so they can break my legs.... :(

What has the world come to when you can trust your fellowman?

Any way its just to much of a hassle. Can you imagine if you had to do this with every game you bought?

Not sure you understand what a beta is, maybe you've only played "pre-order beta"s that are just paid early demos. You would not be buying this and you would be expected to test things and give feedback. Although I use "you" in the general sense here of course.

So, I signed up. It's not likely I will be chosen, and now I just saw that you need to print and scan the contract? I hope my printer is working, or that the local library have some equipment to use. If not, I'm screwed.

You can just scan your signature and put it on the NDA be means of graphical editor like paint.
Result is the same.

more is better, but I'd say at least a consistent 3. If everyone only has time for 3 hours we are in trouble, but if some people do more its good because fresh eyes usually spot a lot of stuff. I usually say that if someone makes 5 bug reports during the whole time it wasnt a waste to include them. Great betas will report up to 200 bugs though, but as long as people help as much as they can and dont get bored after 2 weeks and stop posting/testing I'm happy. Let me stress again that there will be weeks when the game isnt fun to test because it is broken in some way or another, but we still need you to test etc so dont expect it to be like playing a free polished game. On the plus side you get a lot of input on how features are done and balance etc in the end.

Thanx for anserwing, exactly that was asked in a german forum lately.

Another question:

English as language is needed of course too. But how good you need to read/write it?
Will there be predefined tests(questions with can be answered simple), or do the betas more writing reports in own written words?

Cheers,
Chromos

I think you speak/write English swimmingly good.

Thank you SAS,
it is more for other german members on some german forums.
Some people are a bit "shy" maybe because they only think that their english is not sufficient enough.
So if the need of building own complex sentences is not given it is maybe easier to contribute.
And I'm just gather such informations and post it over in some german forums.(Like the translations of the Dev Diaries for the Add-ons etc.)

There are quite some other good people out there who never show up here in this forum. And I guess that is the same in other countries that have some own HOI/Paradox forums.

Cheers!

english! good! needs to be!

i've posted in some threads with you do you think my internet english is good?, HA!

Podcat - Would love to sign up, but our oldest son was accepted into the Nuclear Forces program in the US Navy and will be leaving home in August. 2 years of A and C school in Charleston and then at least 4 years deployed. Momma has decreed we WILL be spending time together and GOING places together before he leaves. And as we all know, if Momma ain't happy, nobody is going to be happy.
FYWI(For Your Wife's Info): He can typically get leave after Navy bootcamp, or between Nuke "A" school, Nuclear Power School, and NPTU. If for some weird reason, he couldn't swing leave authorization during 1.5 years of Navy education, then almost assuredly before reporting to a ship/sub. I was a nuke sailor and it was not that bad to get home to visit. She might not want to smother the young one, that way he chooses to take leave back home because he misses y'all rather than saying "I can't get leave" and staying on the boat because he got all the motherly attention upfront.

I just thought I would give you some insight since I hate to see a fellow HOI fan denied the greatness of HOI.

Your right about that. Well then go to Bug reports and type aaaaburnhoi in search and it pulls up all my threads

Well, I just picked three randomly from my search and put them in. I think they are smart enough to do a search if they want even more. :)
In the end, imho, they will very likely only look about how you reported etc..

Cheers!

I wanted them to get my bug reporting info, since there is probably some heavy competition for Beta testing. I have some fresh eyes for my favorite game, boys and girls.

its only for games you beta. it is in fact a good requirement because people who cant be bothered also wont take the effort to test consistently.

Make sense. Like i said its just a Hassle. I would have to go to my local library sign into my e-mail, printed it out, sign it, scan it, and e-mail it. The thing is if I do get picked I would probably do all of this.

One question though. Instead of having to scan it could I just take a picture of my signature with a digital camera?

No I have done betas before. I've never heard of a beta that you would have to pay for. I truly understand the safeguard that you guys want. It just seems a tad extreme. All in all I do respect you guys decision.
