Steam vs other

I like Steam alot for the convenience of not having to keep track of cd's anymore. Actually I don't have any boxes of any games anymore, except some special ones of the games I've made myself in a box for memory.

GG is nice as well, but its so much easier with auto-updates

The difference I believe is that when you log on it does not autopatch you.
It only just patches full installs, that is a huge difference for the problems mentioned previously, on both sides of the coin.
