Interesting. One question,I'm interested how the new map will work. Will everyone get it with the new patch, and then need the DLC to unlock the Indian rulers in order to play them,or we won't have the new map without the DLC ?

The map and the provinces will be in the patch.

Will CK2 be able to adapt 2.0.4 savegames to the extended map?

2.1 will not be save compatible. BUT! We are not heartless and will provide a 2.0.x branch in Steam for everyone who wants to complete their saves.

Note: There are a lot of map changes, not just adding India but also some tweaks and changes in the nearby areas which would make saves impossible to make save compatible.

Hopefully within two weeks for a dev diary to magically appear.

Its difficult to tell given how little we saw, is this expanding the map to include India or is it merely giving us a new map. Either way, can't wait.

It expands the map, it ain't separate. They are joined together.

Hey Groogy! Since the converter will have to be reworked to take all these new titles, provinces, etc. into account, can we expect some new cool converter-related stuff? Like Miaphysites or personal unions? :D

Probably not, I will mostly focus on getting the Indian content up and running with the converter, if time appears I will try to polish some stuff yes.

Very excited for the new DLC!

As an owner of a GamersGate version, since new patches will not be compatible with that, when should we expect to hear some details about the future of the GG versions migrating to Steam? I'd ask in the proper thread, but it seems to be closed :(

We gave you Steam keys a long time ago. You should have steam keys in your GG Library, if you can't find them contact customer support. Wouldn't want you to miss out on this awesome DLC.

What will happen to the speed of the game now that 100ths of new provinces are added which will all have courtiers? Won't this make the game very slow? How will this be fixed?

A lot of time has been spent on optimizing the game, especially scripts. Memory usage has also been reduced. The increased performance demands shouldn't be too noticeable, maybe if you play constantly on speed 5.

2. Since for Jainists there will be extra focus on having a stable and harmonious realm (and to a lesser extent the making of Siddartha proud with your teching), will some of the same flavour be made available to Christian realms? (*)

(*) Some corners of the Christian world in specific timeframes had a really high appreciation of learning. Think about the small-time renaissance brought about by Irish monks in 9-10th century, or even Cluny. Or, with less flare, the Benedictines. Ironically, crusader states weren't that bad at tolerance.

Cluny did get its own events in Sons of Abraham, as did Mount Athos :)

Oh dear, does this mean I'll have to block automatic updates to continue playing the game? My computer can't really run the game with too many more provinces...

We will provide a branch of 2.0.4 in Steam

Sigh, I won't be able to play CK2 anymore then.:(

Well hopefully my optimizations and tweaks might be enough to keep your computer alive for a year more. No promises though. We will provide a branch of 2.0.4 in Steam for those who want to continue on that version.

Naval combat or will still hundreds of ships just stay in the same sea-zone, watching the sunset together?

Fixed for you
No there won't be any naval combat.

Can you share some light of the out-of-India improvements? I see that Cumans will be bigger and there are some new steppe people. Are you going to change the Mongols in any way? What are the improvements to Abyssinia?

Patience is a virtue, its a very good trait to have. All in good time.
I would say since we are still working on it, any information I give you at the moment would be incomplete so wait for the patch notes.

Any word on a possible rework to decadence? Islam played an important part in the history of India (and stands to benefit a great deal from having the map expanded in that direction), so this would be as good a time as any...

If I recall Doomdark did mention a decadence rework somewhere on the forum. So you'll have to wait and see. :)

ahhh yes i see the codes now ... so with these codes i can install the game with all the expansions and dlc's to steam and then uninstall the GG version right ?

Yes :)
