Scenario is 1066. I am the Doge of Venice. My buddy is the Duke de Hauteville of Apulia. He has plotted to revoke a county title from his vassal (who has two counties). The count refuses and goes to war over it. My buddy is surprised when the count calls in two of his close friends, nearby dukes with large armies.

I have the option to 'offer to join war' for both sides, so I offer to help out my buddy and join the war on his side. His troops are blue and the count's troops along with his allies are red.

I land my army to join up with the Duke of Apulia's. We notice that they are fighting: each other.

Quit, reload, same thing. My armies will also lay siege to his holdings. I'm hostile to the bad guys, too.

Is this a known bug or should I report it over in the bug reports forum?

You should bug report it.

They changed the rules for offering to join wars and it has resulted in various oddities like this.
