The year is 1180, and I'm sitting comfortably in Granada in the newly created Empire of Hispania. I know that the Aztecs will be knocking on my door, but when/where? What is the date range and geographical location possibilities?

Also, since the player already knows that the Aztecs will be coming, I think there should be a feature that allows them to come at ANY interval in the game. They should also come in different strengths (e.g., anywhere between a minor forces and a soul-crushing Genghis Khan scourge). Basically, anything to make them more random if possible.

I think the Aztecs do not appear before 1250. And that they can land on the whole western coast; I have seen them land in Mauretania,Portugal,Aquitaine,Ireland and Iceland.

When: only after year 1250
Where: anywhere on the Western Coast, from Morroco to Iceland. They will arrive in two waves, each randomly appearing in another location

I have to disagree with your idea of having the possibility of having them appear at any interval. Perhaps only after 1000 of something, because if you play from 867 it wouldn't make sense for them to invade before they get longboats from the vikings in Vinland.

Yeah they turn up anywhere on the western coast from any point from 1250. I've seen them land in Iceland, Ireland, Aquitaine, Morocco and Portugal, they also land in two waves, in my experience it's mostly been Iceland and Morocco.
