Hello Paradox,

I enjoy CK2 a lot, and I've reached almost 100 hours on it by playing on steam...
but there is one little detail that keeps bothering me - that you can't get steam achievements
with the CK2plus mod.

Could you please make it compatible with that mod? I don't see any reason not too, it will
increase your publicity on Steam as all achievements show up in my friends activity log.

I have tried to play iron man mode without ck2plus, but the additional details and game balance
ck2plus provides just makes it better... I can't bring myself to play 30 hours without ck2plus when
I know it exists :)

anyways, Thank you in advance and please make this happen :p

Inb4 whining about how CK2Plus is a nasty bad thing that must not be mentioned in the main forums.

Nonetheless, no, this is not going to happen. CK2Plus is not something official. It is done by volunteers, some of whom aren't even particularly skilled in CK2 modding (even I've added a few things to it). Sometimes releases come out with critical bugs that have to be fixed with a hotfix. Sometimes the game gets rebalanced in such a way that Paradox wouldn't even dream of. Sometimes achievements become completely moot in CK2Plus as certain functions are added, removed or changed beyond recognition. You'd have to create a new set of achievements for CK2Plus (a waste of time) and force Schwar, Zeress and the rest of the team to cooperate with Paradox in modding CK2Plus (which none of us want... *shiver*).

I do have a question, though. What's the hype with achievements? Why bother with them? Why are they important enough for you to warrant creating this thread? They're a fun little distraction if you play vanilla ironman, but I don't see why they're a big deal.

I guess it gives me something additional to aim for in a game, which is nice in such a open game as CK2.
I also like the recognition that I have put time and effort into completing something "harder" than normal.

Man I dunno, it makes my steam profile look prettier >.<

Achievements ftw. Play normal CK2 to unlock them, it is not a big deal dude.

I actually enjoy play on ironman as it stops me from save scumming. The only change I made was rebinding the merge shortcut to something not used by the game. Hoping at some point Paradox will fix this in a minor patch.

I feel your pain: managing vanilla factions while doing the Roman Empire achievement is hellish. I think I'm going to have to abandon it - I have the achievement but its only the 1200s. Another hundred years of permanent revolution will make me self-Julius.
