I really like the ability to send of some of your progeny to join the Holy Orders. Or to tell that 44 year old Aunt that really wants you to find her a husband to "Get thee to a nunnery".
However, I believe this option is currently only available to Catholics.
I, personally, think it would be great to be able to send your spare Norsemen to the Varangians or to the Jomsvikings once they're formed.
On that note, I wouldn't find it that far outside the realm of possiblity to let Jewish rulers send people to the Zealots, or to let Zoroastrian rulers send their men to the Immortals. I understand that the concept of nuns wouldn't really apply, but I feel as though other religions would benefit from the ability to send people to their holy orders as well. And who knows, maybe they intentionally don't have this because it would be too much of a benefit?
I'm just wondering as to others' opinions on this.

It wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. Becoming a Varangian definitely did not disinherit nor was it a lifelong term, which was the main reason becoming a priest or joining a holy order disinherited people, they took vows serve the church for life.

I don't think there's any evidence the Jomsvikings swore a vow of life service, but we know so little about the Jomsvikings that they're little better than the purely fantastic Romuva/Suomenusko/Tengri holy orders. Plus, the Jomsvikings were almost certainly just a landed Norse mercenary company IRL.

I understand your point from a historical perspective, and I admit including the Varangian Guard in this proposal was probably poor form. However, as you said yourself, the other Holy Orders are purely fantastical, so history isn't much of a consideration. I feel as though from a gameplay perspective it would be a nice feature to have for non-christian rulers, once they have reached the point that they have codified their religion into a canon, and have an army standing by to defend their faith.
