For some reason when I try to use the F keys, they don't work so I have to manually hit backspace and click everything. I didn't mess with the controls either, also I'm using the Steam version 1.154. So lets say I'm trying to get Huscarls to hold position, I'd hit 1 then hit F1 twice or hold it in. However, doing so does nothing so I have to hit backspace, then infantry, and then hold position.

tried validating your game files through steam? It may just be a file that gotten screwed up for one reason or another.
How do you do that? At the moment I changed the F keys to 1 - 6, with 7 being infantry and so on.
go to your steam library -> right click on M&B and go to properties -> local files and then select verify integrity.
It said it was successfully validated, so I'll see if that fixed anything or not the next time I play.
No dice it still doesn't work. Also why does it reset the keys back to default, every time I quit the game?
I wouldn't know. Maybe try the Taleworlds Forum http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?board=164.0 . Afterall they are the once who made the game.
