I'm in chapter 3 and about to recruit the second army leader, so far I have not used reserves at all except once when I moved a couple of units I was given into my main army at the main stronghold because I happened to be there and the reserve screen just opened by itself. In now have to fight massed flying enemies and it turns out you have to reconfigure somewhat to do so since they just go for your archers who can't survive since they can only attack one flying unit at a time and the infantry it appears cannot touch them unless attacked themselves.

I need to try out both the infantry only solution and the full spearmen protection for all archer units solution to continue (currently I have 4 archers and 2 spearmen, so I need two more temporarily) to see which I like better.

How do I access the reserves and the recruitment screens to achieve this - at the moment it's a complete mystery to me.

Managed to find a few snippets about this. Can anyone confirm or deny the following?

1. To access reserves you must travel to a castle you own
2. You can only access the reserves present at the specific castle you are actually at, not your other castles
3. You can only recruit when present at a castle you own.....
4. .. and that castle must be in a province you own entirely (green on the mini-map)
5. You cannot recruit into reserves at your castles, only directly into your army

You were close, but mistaken on a couple points:

*Reserves are universal. The reserve units you put in any castle will appear in all castles.
*You can recruit anywhere in any province you own entirely - you do not need to be at any specific location.
*You can only recruit when your army has room for new units or has units that need to be refilled. Otherwise the recruit screen won't be available.
