My fellow Danubians, we are faced with forces that seek to violently and recklessly dictate the future of this Federation. Only through solidarity can we overcome them, and ultimately save this most Blessed Danubia.
Domestically, we face the traitor, Otto Metzler, we believes it righteous to use armed incursions as leverage for his political assertions. It is with pride that I see other men of martial expertise are made of more honor, and more sense, such as General Laurenz Kunze-Serbanescu. I believe the good general is correct, that this coup is an insult to the very concept of democracy Herr Metzler presumes to be defending.
On a foreign level, we see the French and the Italian Kingdom exploit our current instability, declaring war upon our Federation to acheive their goals - the humiliation and subjugation of Danubian ambitions. Though we allowed a vote to be held for Italian independence and separation from the Danubian government, the Italian monarch now contradicts our democratic with insurrection, worked like a puppet for French interests, vile interests.
As a nation, now, more than ever, we must remain united. I know tensions run high given recent allegations and protests across the nation, but I must implore those dissenting - work with me towards stability, and leave your grievances to a time where we do not face destruction from foreign enemies. I point to a time in our history such as this, when civil war wracked the nation, sadly with my involvement. When the Bavarian tyrants entered the fray, it was I, and a good deal of others, who said "NAY!", and turned to those who matter, our kin.
Through my powers of the Presidency, I hereby invoke a State of Disorder. Furthermore, I, as Commander-in-Chief, shall call up the state militias of our constituent states under Federal control, to form additional forces to which we may use to act as a bulwark against French aggression, and to reestablish order in Italy. I shall consult with our military leadership, and with peaceful opposition leaders, to work together for Danubian stability. Peaceful opposition shall never endure armed dispersion, so long as it remains peaceful and not a tool for destruction.
May God Bless the Federation.
