...Since I can't seem to change the thread header in my other thread.

Download here: This should be the link: (I think) EDIT: filefront always having a bad day. Mediafire is better: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?7jhon4wiiwnfldy

Edit: New files v3.2 with corrected scenario file (and a typo)! Greece doesn't really get MB.155s!

Compatible with CORE 0.60.24

Install to wherever your CORE2 mod is installed.. It is a .rar file and the directory structure should be retained. Don't forget to make a backup first and all the usual caveats apply!

How it works:
Immediately after the trigger for "Flavour Events" you will get another trigger asking whether you wish to use this mod. There are 3 options:

No
Although there will still be a few changes to France, they have no noticeable effect on gameplay. Just to be sure I tested it and it really has negligible impact. Choose this option if you are playing as the Allies and NOT France, or if you are playing as Japan and are concerned that the campaign in France might take a few extra months.

Yes - Integrated
The mod will interact fully with the game. Choose this option if playing as France, or Germany or Italy and want more of a challenge.

Yes - Isolated
I included this option so that people can play with a beefed up France without it significantly affecting other countries via the new arms deal. I don't think it does significantly affect minor countries but this is in case you disagree! This prevents the minor country affected using its resources or creating a new air unit. There will still be some small relationship effects of the new deals. The UK will still give up some of its production to France IF/IF France does not declare Vichy. Note the Swiss aircraft event is always in "Isolated" mode.

The options mean that the mod can safely be plonked n your CORE game and have as much impact as YOU want.

Features:
A) Call up events for the mobilisation of the French Series A Formation, Series B, Overseas Category 2 and Overseas Category 3 division 8-9/39 plus a few late mobilising units. They are linked to the existing mobilisation events. These have been tested and WAD (or at least as I designed them). Maintenance for the above cadres has also been factored in although since the AoD engine "makes" you pay full salary for dormant units this requires salary compensation! This is the only part of the mod which is close to "something for nothing". All the Series B units (with one exception) are 1930 Reserve units with WW1 brigades. The Series A units are mostly 1935 Infantry with (largely) WWI brigades. Many of the active units have WWI brigades attached as well and the call up of reserves gives a shift towards drafted army. This is on top of the usual mobilisation shifts. If I could, I would have these formations start with -ve organisation..

B) Slightly upgraded the worst French tech teams (from 3 to 4). They will still struggle to get out of the stone age but without a major redesign and re-balancing any further increase is liable to be too much of a drain on IC and may lead to ahistorical results.. Added a blueprint for 1941 APCR to represent Brandt's pioneering research, which in turn led directly to the British development of APCR and (then APDS). Also added event to reflect Anglo-French technical exchange on radar in April 1939.

C) Added some off map production (so it can't be captured and used by GER) to help feed and pay for the above. Resources not supplied! This off map production is lost when France losses the mainland (and is restored if it recovers it).

D) Added an option to create a tiny Reserve Fleet

F) Some flavour events to refit a few old French ships and commission some of the auxiliary vessels (escorts) historically used.

G) A minor correction to the starting number of escorts.

H) Adjusted Mogador and Volta back to flotilla craft (albeit powerful ones.)

I) Some re-assignment of UK production to France IF/IF France decides to fight on and the return of reassigned UK production to back to UK when FRA liberated. This is primarily to give a real impact to the consequences of an "Indissoluble Union" and enable a French player to run 4 tech teams after being booted off the continent. By taking the IC off the UK, game balance is largely maintained.

J) Franco-Soviet economic agreement. [In future I would like this to affect the ai files such that SOV and FRA consider each other a higher preference for trade. It should also facilitate greater access by Russia to other European markets. I'm not game to try to mod this yet!] The never finalised agreement from the mid 1920s gets a new lease on life.

K) Reassessment of numbers/types of brigades. There will never be right answer because of the way AoD has no true corps reserves.

L) More accurate initial deployment in FRA.

M) Some Polish/Czech volunteer formations. [might do an air unit too]

N) Some more MS.406 and Potez 633 aircraft deals.

I will update the Mod for new CORE versions since I will use it!!

The biggest balancing issue is managing the reserve units' salaries and short bursts excess IC. I was going to change the reserves to use the add division command, but I cannot then specify experience or model (ie version - eg 1930 Arty viz 1934 Arty) of the attached brigade. Remember, if you are playing as France, you should try to follow a historical naval build program. This is quite a bit more than the in-game naval construction program and will keep you poor!

Have fun and let me know the results.

Acknowlegements:
This would not have been possible without AoD and the CORE team since it builds on their hard work (of which I am now even more appreciative!) as well as the fan community for their assistance. Finally a thnakyou to the nice person who directed me to CORE in the first place!

Generally I would agree. In fact I had thought to look at something similar for the UK for the territorial units and yeomanry regiments.

There is no doubt that used selectively this does affect balance. In this case (unless you pick "No") it will definitely slow up the campaign in France.

That however was one of the goals of the mod (in circumstances where the player could determine, for each game whether this was desireable)

Sorry folks, there is a bug in the Reserve Fleet event causing a CTD. It occurs if you have chosen to create the reserve using both flotilla craft and submarines but will not cause the CTD until you try to mobilise the Reserve Fleet. The error in the scenario file is now fixed and the links updated, but since this does not affect games in progress, here is a work around which prevents the CTD:
