I play Armageddon scenario in DH lite as "The Confederates" and I have defeated USNA and coup'd Libertadores, and now I'd like to move many of my troops to Indo-China and India to defeat Bourbon, Republic of China and Australasia especially when Indo-China is out of oil. But how can I do it? It's too far for transport ships and I don't understand this expeditionary force thing. If I press "send expeditionary forces" and choose a division for example from Maracaibo, it doesn't move anywhere and then turns to Indo-Chinese and then Indian? What the duck is that suppose to be?

Try capturing Naval bases on pacific islands and rebasing the transports there. Alternately, load up transports with troops and then re-base them to a port in Indochina.

Expeditionary forces are a way of giving control of your troops to an ally. The ally will then be able to use them as their own, but they won't teleport or grow wings.

As space viking said, but one thought is are you escorting with older destroyers?? Some of the older stuff has limited range... rest the mouse pointer on it and I should tell you.. or it tells you somewhere.. later version transports have a long range, but they are held back if you group them with other ships.. the other possibility is to seize an intermediary base.. If you have pearl harbor, rebase on that .. ships will rebase, no matter what the range.. and transport from there..

I don't have a Pearl Harbor and in TP's it says the range is 3000, so I think everything is simply too far away, which sucks of course. Also the escorts are very new battleships with a range of 3500 if I remember correctly.

I never as a rule escort my transports - that is, by mixing them in a fleet. If there are escorts, they have a habit of trying to engage, whereas unescorted the ships will try to keep their distance.
