Help westernizing

Hi, yesterday I started playing my 3rd games, the first being japan (Which westerized very easily.) And then Two Sicilies-> Italy. Now I'm playing Persia. I started with DOW'ing Afghanistan and annexing it. And it's now 1851 and I have 65 prestige but only 20 mil score. How do I raise it? Do I just try to accumilate lots of leadership points and then get 10 generals at the same time? Or what exactly is the best way to go forward?

Other tips on how to catch up to the western powers would be appreciated.

Gather a lot of money and start buildling army/navy.
Use NF to increase officer(with more officers you gain more leadership => more generals), and soldier population.

You can conquer some other nations -> to get more population of soldiers/officers and additionally you gain prestige too.

Well, it's difficult to conquer things with the conquer casus beli. A lot of infamy for way to little reward. I'll try your NF'ing for more officers strategy.

If you have modified the years in the file to go past 1936 and you still can't westernize, I'm deeply concerned.
