I would just like to say that the honorable de Escovedo had no contact with me planning a subversion of this great Republic. While I cannot speak for him, I would also like to stress he has my full confidence that he is in support of this glorious Republic.

And speaking of subverting the 3rd Republic, I wish to welcome Mr. Roseno into Chile. I hope he can find the proper niche to fill in Chilean politics, and wait a bit before making the senate bow down to him. If his crowning can wait a couple weeks, I have drills to go over with my Army in the South.

-General de Porto

Everyone! Let us calm down and deal with one problem at a time, there will be plenty of time to discuss politic's and potential threats to democracy once Schmidt is taken down.

Sir, you have been removed from command of the Army of the South until your name has been cleared. You statements above do not bode well however for your name being cleared. If you continue to lead the Army of the South illegally you will face a court martial for disobeying orders.

Are you sure it is wise Senor Presidente to remove a general during a coup? I think it may further destabilize the nation.

When a General openly supports a man who threatens a coup then yes. He has only been a General for a week at most and I doubt he would have had time to even arrive in the South before his commission was revoked. Who ever has been leading what remains of the Army of the South can continue to do so. I am not sure how many soldiers still remain in that Army since they were defeated in the Communista revolt. He was assigned to that Army originally to help rebuild it after most of it was destroyed recently.

President Rivera

Which statement? The first paragraph is me saying how I never heard of a plot to subvert the 3rd Republic. The second paragraph is me mocking the return of royalty to our 3rd Republic.

The government has my support as always. I do not want to cause a scene which will alienate either one of us from the 3rd Republic. Let me command the Army of the South to stop the military enforcement of Socialist policies.

What a Chile, where one can leave the Senate, and come back being accused of something one was never privy to.

"Then I shall indeed throw my public support behind Senor Crazzio, despite his theories of rampant capitalism..something I do not support. While I am unable to vote this election, due to legal issues regarding duel citizenship, I shall indeed throw my support behind him once the issue is resolved."

-Crown Prince Daniel Jesus Roseno

You do me a great honor Senor! I am very pleased to hear of your return! Please make yourself welcome in Chile mi amigo! Whether I win or lose in this next election one thing can be certain: change is coming to Chile.

---Caitan Crazzio---

I am glad I have not joined the life of politicians.

Can we not forget about this bickering for just a while? There is a coup threatening to forcefully put in reforms without submission to Congress nor with approval by the President. Once we defeat it, I believe, can you go back to your bickering.

- Gen. Sebastian Hidalgo

De Porto,

I misread the mocking in your statements. I do not think you should be saying however that Escovedo is in support of the Republic when the evidence shows he is not. I think we need clarification on the status of the Army of the South as it was defeated when it joined the communist rebellion. I do not wish to imply that you support Escovedo's coup threats from his statements as one can not believe the rantings of a madman and the investigation so far has not revealed any incriminating evidence against you or any one else.

President Rivera

Presidente,

Thank you for understanding me. I had hoped my sarcasm in reference to the "Prince" was clear, but I have been told I speak in quite the monotone voice. I also write in a monotone voice. I will submit to whatever investigation you wish to conduct, and hope that I can be re-instated in time to help deal with the Coup at hand.

In regards to Escovedo. I make it a rule not to consider private comments between senators brought up before the senate to be evidence of anything. I only express my confidence in him because he has given me no personal reason to not have confidence in him. You have reasons to feel otherwise, and I respect your reasons Senor Presidente.

I hope this can all be worked out soon.

I think when a correspondence is addressed to the President on a Senator's letterhead then it can be used as evidence. I do not think off the cuff remarks made in private over whisky and cigars should be evidence however as they are hearsay.

President Rivera

Look who's back. I hope you remember the story about the overthrowing of the empire, Roseno. Because we have not. You are not welcome here.

And I denounce Schmidt and Escovedo's evil plot. The republic is safe behind de Conti and Rivera.

Mr Rivera, I have always been a proud supporter of yourself. Please do not let me down: Colonel do Porto is a honorable man and I know he is not participating in any coup attempt.

This is a coup

Thought a little early this year, it seems that Martin Schmidt has declared a coup to enforce his social agenda!

Many of you are generals or ministers and I need your declarations For the Republic or For the Coup!

Minister of the Interior - Miramontes ((Ivir Baggins))
Minister of the Treasury - de Santa Rosa ((Riccardo93))
Minister of Foreign Affairs - ABSTAIN (vacant, I think)
Minister of Defence - Ferrari ((King50000))
Minister of Industry and Trade- Crazzio ((Cavebear3000))

Army of Northern Chile ((18 brigades (12inf 6art)) - Captain Rios ((Rudders10))
Army of Bolivia-Peru ((18 brigades (10inf 6art 2cav)) -General Martin Schmidt ((lordvagrant)) - COUP
Army of Patagonia ((18 brigades (10inf 6art 2cav))) - General Sebastian Hidalgo ((MastahCheef117))
Army of the Republic ((20 brigades (14inf 6art)) - General Charles Maximilien ((Syriana))
Reserve Army ((14 brigades ( 9inf 3art 2cav )) General Jesus Gonzales ((yourworstnightm))
Garrison of the Panama Canal ((8 brigades (5inf 3art)) - General Saez ((Seek75))
Navy and Marine Force((6 brigades (5inf 1art)) - Eduardo Alvarez ((Gloa))
Capital Guard ((18 brigades (12inf 6art)))

Note that the Army of the South hasn't been reconstituted yet.

"This hostility amuses me. I merely wish to support the current Nationalists, not to reinstate my grandfathers Empire. I seek the return of Chile to glory, and its citizens to their place in the sun. That is all."

-Crown Prince Daniel Jesus Roseno

General Schmidt is a despicable individual, he may want to improve the lives of the people but this is simply not the way to do it.

The investigation has concluded that you were in no way complicit in Escovedo's treachery. I hope we can bury the hatchet on this ugly affair. I believe I spoke too soon on assigning you to the Army of the South as the new recruits have not been raised yet. I will leave it to the next President to determine if it gets rebuilt.

I also wish to appeal to the Chilean Supreme Court to see if their is some way some reforms may be instituted other than by a military overthrow of the lower house. I know many in the Congresso support reforms and think it would be a tragedy if our armies have to fight one another over this issue.

Yes, all this drama for something made moot. At least I have your voice of confidence though, President.

Though it seems I am a general without an army, I express my explicit support for the government in this time. I hope all the Ministers and Generals will quickly deal with this problem as painlessly as possible.

and now, even Colonels need their sleep. I hope I will find the Senate chamber still standing upon the morrow.

Colonel de Porto

Rivera, the time has come to conclude this affair. You have the testimony of those who you allege to be conspirators, and my own word. You are correct when you say that the truth sets one free; I am a very free man.

Senator Alejandro Ruiz de Escovedo
