True, true. Though the only real fighting they seemed to have had against the Germans were that Headquarters Division, all the other time, it sounds like they received help from regular infantry divisions. Though I may be wrong.
Actually, there was a pretty intense battle between 35,000 marines attacking 31,000 German defenders in Nimes. The marines lost more men, but the three German divisions were thoroughly beaten and could do nothing to rescue their surrounded comrades.

I know it is probably a little too late to ask, but when did you annex Slovakia? I reread all the chapters to see, and none of them talk about a war with Slovakia bringing them into the NRE.
