i defeated germany two times. one game was with uob and the other was with commune. with the commune i needed 15 month to win the war with uob 3 years. the victory with the commune was easy. you have to do two things to win with them. start the war as soon as possible and more important take the blitzkrieg doctrine (or whatever it is called). that gives you the moral boost you need to break through the german lines.

Ps: yeah the mod is better now. some things still need improvement.
- its not a world war. its an euopean war and several civil wars. yeah i know due to the fact that there are no colonial empires its hard to create a world war.
- the post war period. i always end my games at a certain point (victory as uob, france or germany; united china and so on)

how do you do that? the commune forces are outnumbered 2-1 at the start
 
with uob i let the german forces break through our lines and then destroyed these forces. at a certain point it looked like we would lose but then the spanish anarchist won and joined our side (that was important because of the italian front). with the commune i encircled many divisions in belgium and i equiped all of my divisions mit engineer(importan because of the river crossings) and artillery brigades and my infantry was completly modernised to 39 (or 40/41 ?) while the germans mostly had 36 infantry. i always attacked and they couldnt reinforce their troops fast enough but i admit if the war would have lasted a year longer....

and no militia spam.
i have just built mot infantry and tanks and concentrated these units on the northern part of the front.

really dont know. i only have the save from the uob game. in this game the war started 38.
i guess the war in the other game started 39. (didnt know there was a 36 option)
with the uob i very often redeployed units. we were at war with germany AND austria. there were several situations where i thought: thats it. we are doomed !!! but somehow i always saved the day. i must admit that the victory was far more satifying :) than the victory with the commune.
one thing that always helped me was to pause the game for ten minutes or even longer when i thought that the situation was desperate and then analysed the situation. when youre fighting you sometimes forget to see the "big picture".
if you name me a free upload side i can give you the uob save where we were on the winning side ... at last. ( i can also give you an earlier situation.)
with uob i only used mot infantry and marines.
 
I just had a really fun game as the qing empire
couple of bugs though: 1) on a certain moment I had wu peifu as chief of staff, only he had the stats of a HOS
2) apparantly the event chain for gaining tibet, fengtien and mongolia goes out from the fact that you go after fengtien the last, however in my case mongolia was pupeted by russia and I went after japan first
3) I got the event "we have united china" after fengtien joined me, but while I still was at war with japan (I choose to go after transamur of course :D) I was lucky I had built industry by this point because otherwise this would have seriously hurt
4) serbia grabbed bosnia in the austrian civil war but it lost the 4th balkan war, after it was released by event it didn't have cores on the northern half of bosnia, this remained bulgarian.
5) can there be a surrender event for socialist spain if the entire spanish mainland has been taken? they absorbed portugal and angola has a VP in it

also can I gain germany's land in china any other way then the event after the AOG joins you?
 
so. i have played another game with france. its april 1940 and my troops are near hamburg. i guess that you are playing on hard. i only play on hard with germany or russia.

one thing i have noticed was that the tommies are just sitting in the netherlands and do nothing which is quite annoying
 
great mod but one glitch:

while doing an amphibious assault i wasent able to supply my troops. the game kept trying to supply my units from the caspian sea lol. however it wouldent let me choose another port to supply from.

i was playing as the ottoman empire attacking spain.
 
I have an issue. When the US Civil War event was triggered, I had a unit in New England (Maine region). But for some reason, Canada still invaded and created a puppet out of New England. Any way to stop this?

I also like how the CSA (Combined Syndicates of America) is in the north and the UNION state is in the south. Someone has a sense of humor. :D
 
It just happened to me that after a syndicalist Netherlands surrendered to Germany and was reinstalled as german puppet, all of UoB, France and southern Italy (all allied to Netherlands) were also at peace with them. No events followed. Is this a known bug?
 
Finally enjoying this game with the mod...jesus, DH default was killing me. Anyway the only issues to mention from me is the National pop(?) Russian counter, and....maybe could we have a better pallet? The world looks a bit sickly.
 
personally i think the commune should be the "default winners", as in they beat germany more often than not, at least in the franco-german war. i think germany needs a bigger hit from the depression

update: im slowly losing in the franco-german war. france is way too weak. im no expert but hardly a bad player. germany has 150 divisions to my 78 (manpower issues)
Default winners? Germany is meant to be stronger here - they were the winners of WWI after all. It is HARD, but far from impossible, for AI France to beat Germany. In any case, the team is experimenting with some ways to make the German-Commune War a bit more balanced.

I've also never seen the Soviets win the Civil War. They always spring to life and either get annexed by event a week later (The PSA has the same problem; why make these countries if the events make them disapear with no fight?) or fall to White arms
Soviets usually win the Russian Civil War in about a third of my games, really. Not to mention that, every now and then, Russia transforms into Soviet Russia through democratic means. The PSA also has a big chance of survival. Of course, there are events where they usually just cave in and the civil war ends, but it's not that common (10% of my games for that occuring with the Soviets, or about 25% for the PSA being reannexed by the US). You've just been unlucky. :p

korea and formosa also never succeed in revolting, even going back to arma days.
The Korea issue has already been noted, but Formosa has a good chance of surviving as well.

Kaiserreich is a work in progress. One of our main challanges now is creating an interesting post-war scenario. There already are many interesting chains for the period, such as the Internationale-supported African Liberations. In any case, we already have a multi-front global war, as Japan eventually goes to war against Germany or Russia (regular or Soviet). :)

Many people have already reported this as Russia, but that's the first time I've heard of this same bug happening as another nation. This is related to having ports on the provinces bordering the Caspian Sea. This will be fixed on the next version, IIRC.

good to know that youre working on the post war events and the uob problem.

another thing i have noticed: i started a game as cuba and wanted to switch to csa. now i can understand why usa mostly wins the acw (in all 7 games i played so far) in the new version. usa had 85 more or less from the start and four month before the acw started macarthur took over and they had an ic around 135. the aus was defeated more or less instantly and i ... couldnt turn the tide.

I'm wondering if there are events/decisions for a Wrangel Russia (Tsar now) beyond the creation of the Russian bloc and reintegration of USSR (minus Poland, Baltic, Transamur and Turkestan) because its 1946 and the Germans won fairly easily. Did I do something wrong by selecting Central European focus or have I not waited long enough?
 
What am I doing wrong? I dowloaded the mod and unzipped it to this path:

I start the launcher, I select it, I press start it - and I am playing Darkest Hour light... so... where is the mistake?
 
i was usa and i stayed a democracy but damn entente and pacific wared me... i still won but being bombed by carribean and canadian new foundland is annoying can u atleast add a peace treaty of some sorts?

oh and after that i went to europe to kill every nation cept portugal since they didnt war me :) and nuked japan to submission of everything cept japanese mainland, though through all this i am still like the same islolation/dove usa/demobilized i started out with lol. the world face le wrath of America fell and now i am nuking partisans :) all of europe is exactly 59 IC
 
I get a crash every time republican china demands territory off tibet and tibet accepts as it takes the whole country and it can't seem to handle that. I think tibet should have 0% chance of accepting the demands anyway.

also, where can i change the base/default chance of that being accepted?
