Well my productivity regarding recoloring is at a standstill at this very moment, all due to the effort to get CORE 0.5.0 for AoD out of the door. Will pick up again after that's completed, I reckon. No idea what progress the Major has made from his end lately. but I presume not too much. Which in itself isn't too surprising... Recoloring implies a lot of work, rather repetitive at that, so these recoloring ''spurts' come and go (and then usually come again a few months later). But it might explain the lack of progress of late...

Something new... Soon... Please?

not very soon, sorry. but FRAs folder contains like 170+ pics so this is not abandoned. its just not enough for a new version.

hi ADukes,

and many thanks for the contributions,

as for the non german files i usually start with the military leaders. a good start is (at least for SOV) http://generals.dk/generals.php and if the pic is post war or not available using google images with cyrillic letters than bablefish)

the problem for the countries using non-latin letters is that there are different traditions of translating them (eg ending of names -ii, -ij, iy; H vs Kh and so on).

i have worked with the russians already for HoI1 http://www.stonyroad.de/forum/showpost.php?p=159210&postcount=74
and as leaders are usually the same in all HoIs i'll muddle through i think.

just a little preview for some SOVs:

hope u like?

EDIT: + getting the girls out of the airforce (names ending with -ova) is also a task, even if they're cute ;)

EDIT2: ah well i forgot: i need some testers. what you have to do is playing this one on AoD with germany (with the CSVs installed) and write down the names of those military leaders you encounter which arent coloured yet (eg "SOV/land/Zhukov" or something similar). usually ai takes the leaders with the highest skill level so i think i dont need to many (just playing as GER). so even if most arent painted, at least the german player gets the impression that the majority of pics is done. if you're interested post here or make yourself heard otherwise (PM).

Have you been varying your palette, major? I might be imagining it, but it seems to me that your later German leaders are mostly rendered in a kind of cool blue palette while France and Britain have browner tones, and now the Russians seem more grey. Whether by accident or design, it makes for really nice effect. Beautifully done as always.

no its not WAD, the coldish blue in the very beginning was actually a mistake, howerver i liked it in some cases. but the basic procedure is usually the same but the originals make the major difference i think (i just hammer on that pic until i like ;) )

seems that good genes > smoking?

anyway new version added with some random GFX (province pics/tech pics/skins/ events and their pics, leader related)

Look at you - branching out into skins now. One area of expertise not enough for you?

well thoise where just - i never made some so i wanted to know how that is done...

RE branching out, yes thats indeed true (Germany complete from 1900 - 2000 )

Just completed putting V19 into a game, major, and it's reminded me of what a mountain of work you've done on this. It goes without saying that you deserve great praise for the quality of your work, it enhances play enormously; but you deserve even greater credit for your commitment in getting such a massive project this far along. It really is staggering.

As for 'Germany complete from 1900 - 2000', if it was anyone else I'd say they were dreaming. But in your case - dream on.

well you see it was late, i had a hard day and all that...
seriously i really thought about this, just for the fun of it, but there are some problems:

officers retire and come back again depending on the situation, no idea if such things work (sleep and wake again, multiple times?).
OG traits if leaders do not dissapear on the set date (and even more complicated when combined with point 1: eg leader a retires in 1919 and there he was just fine and is reactivated in lets say 1939, deserves an OG trait here. eg Kabisch http://www.geocities.com/~orion47/WEHRMACHT/HEER/General2/KABISCH_ERNST.html useful for ww1, retires depending on germanys situation in 1918, reactivated in 39 - thats just to complicated for one line in a CSV.

but maybe 3 or 4 different lists are possible (ww1 - weimar - ww2 - west germany).
