I hope in a future update, should the player reform Sassanid Persia, there will be a specific government type.

I find government types as interesting as different religions when it comes to gameplay. I really hope they will explore more goverments.
Many have already mentioned bureaucracy heavy goverments, then we'll have republics and nomads.

Loading up Wtwsms today, i remembered they made a specific government for the Sassanids.

I'd love to see what paradox could do with many regions and cultures in regards to governments.

Is WTWSMS compatible with Holy Fury yet?

I'm curious, what kind of mechanics are you suggesting for this special government type for reformed Sassanid Persia?

Presumably it would include satrapies and the like. Personally I prefer the feudal Parthian empire.

I feel that appointed governors should really have a different AI than the normal feudal character. There's a huge difference between the behaviour of someone who owns something and someone who is only a temporary caretaker of something. Viceroyalties didn't really make that distinction unfortunately, they acted just as if they were feudal lords.

I expect they'll develop governments like that though, for Byzantium and China, but it's possible it would be folded into a universal "imperial" type rather than having a special one for Byzantines and a special one for Confucian bureaucracy and what not.

Ideally there would be special Imperial types of China and the Byzantines, and then a standard imperial gov type, possibly with a couple culture specific versions, like a restored 769 style Abbasid where they would be governors.

You have to understand that it was how CK2 explored different game styles, since there wasn't much room for variety in other ways.
CK3 works in a different way, and variety doesn't have to come through different government. There's already a lot of variety within feudalism and with cultural innovations.

Zoroastrian Persia doesn't need a different kind of government if you can just use faith and cultural innovations to provide a different gameplay.

A generic empire system designed originally for byz but then open ended enough for others to be modded is the best you can wish for. With vassal contracts and zoros unique tenets and the ability to make your own heresy is the best you'll get on release.

What specifically about sassanian persia differs to the other Persian empires in your eyes?
