did nayone here in the past notice that China's Zheng He fleet is not of 3 puny boats, but of over 3000 ships, most of which had much better seafaring capabilities than anyone in europe had?

plus china in 1419 should knowmost of the coastline of theIndian Ocean, at least as far as Oman and perhaps as far as Zanzibar...

I will lookinto other threads if this has been discussedfor an improoved GC

Trouble is... earlier patches... china's AI (remember NO AI Attrition) explored everywhere founding colonies in the americas, caribbean... everywhere.

I agree it was important, and dont forget at LEAST there is an event for it .

yes, but the event works against it. AI attrition is important.
I think GC should have Zhen He with roughly 50 ships and with a low attrition, to allow them to at least be able to explore the Indian Ocean rim. Even with that, croissing the pacific would be tough....

AFAIK Can't be done.

Besides if you give China 300 ships they would be crippled by the upkeep costs. Not only that but it is impossible to destroy boats through event I believe. Thus this leaves China with a massive fleet after the emperor bans shipbuilding.

I think you can change the amount of received colonists for the confusionist religion (making it negative for example). That way China wouldn`t be able to colonize (and so Japan and korea who do not colonize however afaik)

Further however there is quite a lot of doubt about Zheng He stories. I have seen a discussion (not on this forum) in which proofs were showed that the whole story was made up, that Zheng He never actually left China.
Also there is a artistic-modifier for numbers. IIRC it would be something of a growth-factor of 1,3 per decennium

I think I heard somewhere that it's possible... But *heavily* bugged. (something like, get below a certain amount and you get like 1000,000,000 boats)

Only when the number of ships goes negative. As the Ai suffers no attrition it MIGHT be doable.
