Hello, I recently updated from the original game to Their Finest Hour. In the original version I used to be able to zero out wasted IC by going on the production screen and cycling through manual control -> Prioritize (whatever)....-> back to manual control. TFH will still allow wasted IC when I do the same thing. I don't have any of the sliders locked. #1 is there any way to get my trick to work in TFH? #2 If not, how does everyone deal with wasted IC quickly so that it's not a nuisance to zero it out every couple of days by manually adjusting the sliders. I'd prefer to keep production off AI as well. Appreciate everyone's input.

I usually put some big long-term project on the end of the list, and only feed it with excess IC. A rocket test site, capital ship, some extra IC, or a strategic bomber can make a good IC-sink, since it can be a couple of IC short of what it needs and still finish not too long after it would have with full funding. With units competing regularly (particularly with staggered completion dates to reduce the cost of subsequent units), it's still somewhat of a nuisance to keep the production queue full. I normally avoid serial production due to its significant drawbacks: later units don't get the latest techs, they only get whatever the production run started with.

Ye, bro, what Kovax says. Always have some serial infrastructures buried in the bottom. Infrastructure doesn't get bonuses for consecutive builds anyways unlike units, and you wanna make sure those serials for units never go red 'cause I'm sure that resets their serial bonus.

Unlike HOI4, having a serial production run run out isn't a problem, in fact it can be beneficial. Each unit that completes gives an increase to "Practical" experience at building that type of unit, so each unit completes sooner and cheaper than the last, regardless of whether they're built in a production run or individually. The problem with serial builds is that any tech increases that are made after the start of the run will NOT be incorporated into the later units of that production run, so you have to pay additional IC for them to upgrade. Production runs save a lot of player attention, but are not really more efficient from an IC cost perspective.
