So title says it all really. I got the Zen Garden after CO extended it to everyone (i should have had it anyway) and now, bizarrely its disappeared again. I have the latest update, no mods or anything, so i have no idea where its gone. Its even disappeared from cities which had the zen garden placed, theres now just nothing there.

Any thoughts?

It's a pretty funny and unproffesional display from paradox.

I did not expect this from a serious publishing studio, i feel betrayed.

First, they let us sell them our personal information in exchange for an in-game zen-garden. Well, that's ok, it wasn't much to ask for from them. I was a bit "on-the-fence" with the idea of selling my personal info, but the idea of being a part of special selected people who got an EXCLUSIVE ( and i can't stress that word enough) item in game was worth enough to do what i normally would not -> to sell my information in order to get the item.

So, a week or two ago, i heard, that paradox has announced, that due to their own fault in distribution, everyone gets the zen garden, including those who did not sell their personal information to paradox. This was an incredible punch in the balls, and I would perhaps be willing to maybe forgive this action if it was really just a one-time blunder, a result of good intentions being ripped apart by inexperience with the distribution.
Ofcourse i lost the zen garden shortly after that announcement. As it stands right now, I am basically amongst a group of people, who bothered to sign the stupid petition and got our garden taken away from us.
It's so ironic to bother doing a good thing for a publisher you once thought was good, for them to slap you in the face with "taking away" a zen-garden.
Maybe we haven't read the fine print, maybe we only signed up for a 5 day "demo" of the garden, who knows, maybe this is what paradox interactive is going to do in the future, who knows?

Not to mention my username and registred game from the previous forum got wiped out , so i'm left with this account. I've tried reporting my issues on "forum help" subforum, but paradox has deaf ears for these issues apparently.

I think complaining about the fact that they gave the zen garden to everyone is a tempest in a teacup. There's no need for such aggravation, when in fact everyone is getting an extra goodie. The game gets richer because of it. Even though it was prompted by a misstep in their key distribution, it still makes the game experience richer.

As for the Zen Garden disappearing afterwards, it's still not clear whether it's their fault, or Steam's. Assuming it's CO/PDX fault is just informed guess because they erred before, but it's still a guess.

The amount of openness they have about the game with the community is head and shoulders above what we see from most game companies, especialy AAA developers/publishers, and that should be respected.

Give them time and they will give an appropriate response and reinstate the Zen Garden for those who lost it.

The Zen garden will be available for everyone when the 1.07 update will be deployed.

They included it in 1.07 because lots of people who had registered to get it had problems recieving their keys... to give it to everyone they had to delete it from the dlc's and make it into a global update, unluckily there have been some problems with the 1.07... just be... Zen.

And stop bickering because something free is not available for a few days.

First: You didn't "sell" your information to Paradox, everyone who wanted to get a Zen Garden had the opportunity freely to sign up for a newsletter, but you were never forced to do so. (You can always unsubscribe the newsletter).
Second: Paradox had several times made announcements that a mistake has been done with the Zen Garden and that it in a mysterious way has disappeared and will be reintroduced in Patch 1.07
Third: You username, well it happened pretty much to every person on the Internet that the username was taken etc. get over it. ;)

Just unsubscribe / update your subscription preferences.. links in all the emails.
IMO, I also signed the newsletter.. but I think Paradox did the right thing giving it to everybody. It wasn't an EXCLUSIVE pre-order bonus, it was a 'sign up for a free park / newsletter' which I don't even think reached the goal they hoped because not everybody was aware of it.

Besides, you will get it back.

Wow.

I suggest you never interact with the internet or a company again if such a minor and known issue upsets you this much.

If your personal information is worth that much to you, you shouldn't be trading it for some trivial in-game item.

Betrayed? Incredible punch in the balls? slap you in the face? .......... Exaggerate much??? lol

Look I know you are trolling and asking for a ban, but I would agree with you - and perhaps Paradox would as well - that the whole Save the Lot promotion and the zen garden aftermath was incredibly poorly handled from A to Z. From starting the promotion with a lot of fanfare and then completely neglecting it, to the ridiculous and confusing sign-up procedure, to the total mishandling of the distribution of the keys and then the bungled patching and unpatching of the asset it has been a cock-up all around.

The basic rule for a promotion is to have one overriding, simple goal and to focus exclusively on that - in this case it was to hype the game prelaunch - rather than combine it with ancillary goals (Paradox Plaza account, newsletter) that dilute what you are trying to achieve. And when you ignore or blow-off a promotion after it has started, rather than keep milking it for your benefit, you create confusion and bad feelings instead of goodwill, which is counterproductive. For example, if McDonalds is doing a Happy Meal promotion, they don't stop advertising it, but they also better have Happy Meals available during the promo period if I bring my kids to the restaurant - and don't ask me to sign up for a bunch of stuff or wait on special lines to get that Happy Meal.

I have lost and regained the garden a few times myself and it is sort of amusing at this point. It may probably be back in the next patch I think. And it is just one asset, not particularly special and there are 1,000s of great user-made assets on workshop. So relax.

He did the same with 9 of my postings ... well, definitely a childish reaction to people who disagree with him.
Perhaps in a few years he will realize that behavior like this is seen as rather ludicrous and that, by doing this,
he just archieved that people see him as a not very adult person

You can get the public beta for 1.07 at any time on steam, just right click on the game name, then click downloadable content, check the tabs the top of the window that should pop up for beta, or something, and pick 1.07 off a drop down menu. With that you should get the zen garden back.

About your account Male you were supposed to merge your forum account with a paradox account before the forum software was switched, not sure what you need to do now sorry.

Well, I guess if something can be done, the admins will know about this.
Definitely his own fault if he doesn´t contact an admin about his problemswith merging his accounts
(or at least looks at the bug&troubleshooting subforum and maybe opens a thread about it)
