Chapter Six
Now that Majapahit is destabilized and we have fortified our southern borders the Javanese, shouldn’t be of concern anymore. That’s why we turn our focus back to the false Emperors . Our armies are relocated to the eastern borders and ready to strike. By the end of 1414 a declaration of war is sent to Dahan. Soon after they are joined by their allies – Joseon and Fang. Dazhou and our, now former, allies of Tianwan, have been previously guaranteeing Dahan, so they join the war against us as well. We offer Ming to join us in the war and although uncertain at first, they enter the war on our side.

The first few months of the war prove to be quite bloody for both sides. On one hand one of our armies are defeated by Tianwan and routed soon after. In the war in the southeast, on the other hand, we emerge victorious – first we crush Fang’s army and soon after – Dahan’s. Meanwhile Dazhou gets preoccupied by the invading Ming troops and leave the war with a peace offer. By the end of April 1415 Joseon enters the fray, delivering some less eight thousand troops at Quanzhou.

Soon after the initial clashes, the false emperor of Jin sees an opportunity to strike and joins the fight against us. The border province of Rehe is quickly occupied, leaving the capital defenseless. Beginning November we get backstabbed again – this time our allies of Ming decide they’ve had enough of the war and sign the white peace with Tianwan.
Meanwhile, in the southeast, we score a crushing victory against the Dahan-Joseon coalition army, and then manage to rout their army. This leaves Dahan defenseless and we split the army and proceed to siege their lands.
Also, we call in our recently released vassal Dai Viet in the war.

In 1416 we try to beat Tianwan on the field again, but alas, we are once again unsuccessful and they rout another army of ours. This gives their false emperor the time to capture some of our central border provinces. Few months pass and Yichang, Nanyang and Xiangyang fall in their hands.
Since we are running low on actual men on the field, we start recruiting new regiments.

Beginning 1417 we lose more provinces – one to Tianwan and another to Dahan’s remnant army. We are able to capture Dahan’s central province though, and the fresh army in the west we’re recruiting grows bigger in numbers.

The northern army is returned north to deal with Jin and is successful. It manages to reclaim Rehe and rout the enemy’s army. By September 1417 we occupy their two provinces and annex them. One more false Emperor to worry about!
At the same time, the war exhaustion is kept low positioning our armies well on the battlefields. Also the newly recruited western army is finally ready to clash with Tianwan and avenge the fallen.

71558484.jpg

The western army is successful and manages to push back Tianwan’s offensive, but is unable to rout their army. We win two sieges and Tianwan wins one. Soon Dahan will fall and Tianwan will be the only one left.
Meanwhile, bad people take advantage of the situation as corruption spreads through the country. Nevertheless, another province is converted to the true faith.

91752466.jpg

During all this Joseon was busy fighting a war of its own – against the Jianzhou Jurchens. And apparently, the Koreans won a decisive victory!

Tianwan’s false Emperor manages to once more surprise us In the battle of Yichang, where he defeats our army of 20 000. Luckily, he is unable to follow as reinforcements arrive to help. During the battle, Irinchibal, the heir to the throne, is badly hurt, and our medicus is unable to heal him. A few months later he dies from his wounds. The Emperor finds solace in the soft arms of his maid and so another heir is soon born to continue the Borjigin Dinasty.
Beginning 1420, Dahan agrees to our peace terms and cedes us 4 provinces, as well as paying 175 ducats as reparations for the war. The focus is now shifted towards Tianwan as all our armies march towards them.

January 31, 1420 marks the end of this war, as our troops capture Tianwan’s capital. We force them to cede Jiangling, on which we had a boundary dispute earlier, and to pay us 75 ducats.
Meanwhile, in the south, Majapahit has stabilized and continues to grow bigger.

78279422.jpg

Just a couple months later the Jurchens declare us war. A grave mistake – Ming and Fang join us, as well as Fang, who had been guaranteeing us for some reason.

51730480.jpg

Needless to say, the war ends up in our favor. In three years the peace treaty is signed and we take once province, as well as some ducats. Perhaps we should have taken more, but our diplomats, negotiating the peace deals, are quite incompetent.
During the war our people admire our advisor, the master of mint. The country is stabilized.

53815419.jpg

Another era of peace follows after the war, as the Emperor wants to give time for his infamy to wash away.
We learn new ways to rule and chose the National Bank idea, to help us with the huge inflation we have amassed. Also, our former master of mint passes away and we hire a new one, this time only 2 stars.
1428 comes with a slider change and we opt towards free subjects again, and again we get the Better administration event.

33041076.jpg

We cancel a mission and the new one we get is quite good. But it will have to wait.
The trader advisor is fired, as he is no longer needed. So is the 2-star master of mint – he is replaced by a 3-star. To celebrate that the Emperor gets a new tapestry.
Mid 1430 our military technology increases and we switch the main infantry units to Offensive Asian Foot soldiers.

44687146.jpg

In October 1431 we decide it would be wise to annex the Jianzhou Jurchens so we declare war. Our allies join us and soon enough total victory is achieved.
It also seems some of the liberals in the country are angry, so we decide to be more liberal and get a free Innovative point!

Good update! Seeing the bit of trouble these Chinese minors are giving you, do you think you could've taken them on when you still haven't cored your Chinese provinces?

Good job! After all "Yuan" had to do it! :D

I think it would be close to impossible on the current difficulty. First, you start the game with ~30 uncored provinces that also are of unaccepted culture. So that means you have some 30 7,6% revolt chance provinces - basically every month at least in one or two rebels will spawn. Second, on top of those 7,6%, Yuan has a special event that spawns more rebels on provinces that are uncored and of chihan/cantonese culture. So that means even more revolts. Third: Even if you are lucky and manage to get 2 alliances signed at the start (we only signed with Ming) the chinese won't help you in any of your wars against the rest of the emperors, because they have too good relations with them and don't trust you enough. Also, they tend to guarantee themselves in such a way, that if you start amassing a lot of infamy and you declare war against 1 emperor, almost all others will join against you (even if you have alliance with them, guaranteeing > alliance in most cases). Fourth: even if you are an amazing conquerer and win your wars, this will still mean that relations with the chinese will be less than 0. And that means that they will probably start sending spies to spawn rebells in your provinces - trust me, you don't need 3 sources that spawn rebells. :p
And also, if you play on high aggresiveness, aquiring large amounts of infamy will mean that your relations with all countries will worsen, which means higher chance of being attacked. And since you are a huge country with lots of neighbours... well you know what will happen.

Short answer - nope.

can we see a map of the current situation?

Sure, the second screenshot of the next chapter should show the map zoomed out. Keep in mind that I still haven't discovered central Asia and India yet.

Also, next part will be coming out in 3-4 hours.

Chapter Seven

We chose to reform the army and improve the current regiments. Then the heir comes to age and he gets introduced to the world.
It would also seem that Majapahit haven't completely forgotten about us

In June 1435 the WTF happens as Ming inherits the Oirat Horde. We, however see this as an opportunity to take one of their new provinces for free by spawning patriot rebels there. We may do so later...

25120843.jpg

In November 1436 Ming calls us to aid them in their conflict against Nepal. We accept and our relations also improve – they now feel we are highly trustworthy. With this war we also have the opportunity to attack the false Emperor of Song, who is guaranteed by Ming, without Ming entering the war against us. By February 1438 we position 2 of our armies near the Song border and soon after send them a declaration of war. The false Emperors of Tianwan, Fang and Dazhou join them. Nothing we cannot handle.
Meanwhile, our newly created National Bank is in trouble, so we forced to lend them some 200 ducats and help.

31112759.jpg

The battles against Song were won swiftly. It seems the he wasn’t keeping his land maintenance full. We also crush the other false Emperors on the field soon after that. That leads to us acquiring some war exhaustion, so we hire a High Judge to keep the revolt risk down.

63162818.jpg

We finish the war with Song before the end of 1439 and annex them. One more false emperor to worry about. As for the others – by the end of September 1440 we make them all convert to our faith and pay us reparations for the war. Fang cedes 1 province.
Meanwhile, the provinces of former Xia is now cored.
Also, it seems some of our merchants were harassed while travelling through Tibet. But it also seems they liked it since relations between our countries increase.

46089216.jpg

After the war we start to notice the Chinese population in our lands dwindle, as the cultures in 2 of the provinces becomes Mongol.
We also lean our Nobles are quite dumb, as some of them ally with Tibet. Perhaps they want to be harassed too.
March 1443 comes with a slider change and we opt towards Centralization. As a result the country destabilizes even more.
In an effort to increase our diplomatic skill, we expand our influence upon Joseon. We also revoke the military access we had given to Ming as we ready to send some spies to their newly inherited distant provinces.

96546133.jpg

Remember our current mission? We were tasked with saving the Mongol people in Altai, which is in Moghulistan. So in May 1443 we declare war on them. The Golden Horde joins them, but we think they have no common border, so that wouldn’t be a problem. Damn Terra Incognita…

12341581.jpg

Even though the lands we’re fighting on are pretty harsh for our armies we manage to prevail and defeat the enemy. An year after the war was declared we sign a peace treaty with Moghulistan and get 2 provinces with Mongol cultures, and gain core on one of them.

57447759.jpg

36526469.jpg

Soon after the treaty with Moghulistan we understand the Golden Horde actually had a border with them. And now the border is with us. So their armies swarm us. As we start moving the rest of our forces to the north, we ask Ming to join us and they accept.
Also, we cancelled a stupid mission (have more ships than Persia) only to get another boring one. Oh well.

73078390.jpg

It would seem the Koreans don’t like our influence spreading over Joseon, so as they see our tough position they think they could best us and declare us war. Tianwan joins them because they are retarded. Ming and Dai Viet join us.

26209367.jpg

Unfortunately for the Koreans, we sign white peace in the beginning of 1446 and we focus solely on them. We also expand our influence over Fang and Dazhou.
Our nobles prove their stupidity once more as some of them ally with another foreign power.

28934348.jpg

By the end of June 1446 we finish the war with Joseon and Tianwan. We make them cede us 1 province each and get 50 ducats from the false Emperor.
After that we manage to hire an excellent 6-star advisor, who’ll reinforce the speed of our armies by 30%. That will surely help in the future.
