Once you're doing something for a living, you no longer fall into "normal people doing a thing" you're now a professional.

If making youtube videos of a game makes you a professional, then Quill18 is more like Ryan Leaf than Peyton Manning.

I've preordered the game already. The day it came out, I got the highest level of preorder. I am a very loyal customer of Paradox Interactive and I absolutely admire the fact I can have an open dialogue with the members of the team. The reason they're such a dark horse is because they put care into their product. I don't agree with all of their marketing strategies and this one includes that.

What do you think this will somehow reduce the number of copies sold? because giving the game more exposure before release is the marketing guys job

And that is highly subjective, wouldn't you say? And what is with thousands of people who might not have heard of the game yet or a unsure about it (it is not like PDX releases always go down without any problems )?

What exactly are you personally losing, if some people can play the game already and show it to others a few days earlier? It is not like they will have an advantage at the Stellaris Leaderboards or something...

Why not ? You have your game, that releases on May 9th. You try to sell it to as many gamers as possible. What medium would you use ? Youtube of course. It's the biggest advertisement medium for video games right now; it makes sense to use it. Just like journalists get to see a movie before it releases, or visit exhibitions before the opening date.

As has been pointed out a bunch of pages back, there is an embargo and you won't see any videos before the embargo is over.

Those who have keys now are indeed under embargo. Fear not though, it's being raised with ample time for you to see the content before parting with your money at launch o'clock.

When will the Embargo be lifted? (Or is this subject of change and therefor you wont mention the current Date so we can not rise in rebellion if it changes)?
