Wrong. Our democracies do not stem from the Athenian model. They originated from the Germanic "Ding"-tradition. Remember the Germanic kings were elected. And the first parliament in the world was Islandic.
Our modern democary has it roots in medieval traditions not in the renaissance and the rediscovery of Greek traditions.

And the second Parliament in the world was the Tynald Hill in the Isle of Man, again Vikings.

The Soviet 'scouts' were called Young Pioneers, weren't they?
The nazis had Hitler Youth or 'Ha Yot' as the germans pronounce HJ meaning Hitler Jugend. They also had BDM, Bund Deutsche Mädel (sp?) which is the female equivalent of HJ.

HJ and BDM were the organisations in Germany that stood by their Nazi ideals the longest.
That proves how efficient mind-washing can be on youth. Terrible.

Hitler Youth

Yes, I heard stories of 16 year olds in Germany at the same level as 8 year olds in school after the war because they had poor education under the Hitler Youth and were mostly tought military and ideological affairs.

Yup. It's no wonder that german soldiers were so efficient, when the HJ taught them how to dig fox-holes lying down from an early age.
