1. I would say supply depots is the most important things esp stock piling resorces and supplies depend on infrac/base size. So the players should have an option where to place the depots, esp in naval bases, not nearby crappy island.
2. The Ai doesnt seem to be doing well, most of the time they seem to be ignored what is going on. Wasnt defending stratgic locations either. So i couldnt figure out what the hold up is.
3. Should be able to destroy bases, like airfileds, naval bases and factories but not the road. But the rail systems should be reduced. Cut infact by 1/2.
4. Well dunno how you guys feel but dont you guys think we should have naval base Headquarters too? Not sure about Air HQs.
5. Now this is the most important factors, if something happen to capitol like taken from opponents or a nuke, shouldnt lose all resources. That why need spread those resources out to be more realistic. No pointing putting a lottery jackpot in the capitol.

As all we saw, Paradox doesnt want to do the dirty job. So, are the modders who are going to improve balance, AI, techs, ministers, events, decisions...

The best for 1.4 patch, would be made the game more moddable yet, I mean, for example:
-set new diplomacy/intel buttons as "release puppet" or "tech trade" or "Support X party",
-maybe an option of allied policy (as ocupation policy),
-make interface able to support mods (production sliders issue in DiDays for example),
-and solve things that doesnt work as party popularity/organization, and of course, supplies system.

I think that you, Paradox, only need to make the skeleton of the HOI3 body. Rest is modder work.

I did read the first 14 pages and the last so a lot of good points covered. In case you are doing a "count" of repeated problems in order to put programming resources to work let me vote for these 5 issues:

Theater Creation: Allow player to establish and define Operational Theaters and possibly tie that into ...

Supply: Allow Theatre designation of supply point(s). Allow player to manage supply lines, by creating supply dumps at ports and airfields which would bleed out across the provences as demand draw.

Unlimited range for AI naval/air units: As Germany, with Brit Isles and Ireland occupied, from somewhere (Iceland? North American?Mid Africa?) I have bomber and Figher Escorts flying over Munich ... wtf?

Control of allied units: Dozens of pesky 0-1 Militia units flock to my front lines and get underfoot when I want to play an elastic defense, encircle warfare game in central Russia. If Allies want to send me units, let me control their deployment. Otherwise, they get in the way.

Fix Japan AI. It is beyond pitiful.

* The interface, like there is no instant way to assess how many divisions you have in each province, this really annoys me

Edit: In some pre-release screenshot there were those numbers that I'm missing under the sprites:

Why can't I see them now, or am I missing something?

* Also about interface: why can't I see the names of the provinces when zoomed out a bit? They'd be easily readable still, yet the game just decides to hide them from me for no obvious reason :( Also when I zoom out a bit, the borders for the smaller regions inside provinces disappear. What's the point of removing information when there's really no reason to do so... I mean what would be the harm in showing this info when zoomed out...

* Things like no way to see other countries' governments. As someone mentioned, it would add flavour, and that's what I miss in this game a lot, afterall it's a game and games are supposed to be entertaining.

* Lack of (historical) events, again it would add a lot of flavour to the game. Modders will fix this again, but yeah..

* I might be alone with this one, and I understand it won't be changed, but I'll mention it anyway. I don't like the new command struckture thing too much, I find it too complicated and requires too much micromanagement etc when arranging your armies

1. No OOB editor for easy re-organization.
2. AI building too many units without regard of manpower for reserves and replacements.
3. Brigade unit names are too generic. At least, each major country should have flavoured brigade names.
4. Scripted events should happen closer to their historic timeline.
5. Italy AI does not defend North Africa well.
6. More feedback on how to FIX or ENSURE better supply would be great.

PS. Channel Island, Qingdao, Scapa Flow, and US superstack fixes will be the bomb.

Two modding issues
1. No way to delete or handover units via events , the existing way to create new units is also not very confortable
2. "No showid" cheat like in hoi2 to show province ids

Not to mention it's pretty damm silly that countries would not know some basic ministers or leaders. E.G. I don't live in USA, yet I still know who is their president and some of their ministers or senators.

1. Diplomacy system still needs work – love the idea, but even with a very passive Germany still seeing allies grow too large very early in the game (Marcus said this best “Strange alliances.... AUS going Axis, Finland in the Allies. Hardcore Neutral countries (Ireland, Netherlands, Switzerland) joining faction BEFORE getting attacked”) (example - 7 June, 1937 Ireland joins the allies)
2. Duplicate brigade and division names being assigned to some units
3. Intelligence system / AI needs some attention – As a very passive Germany, I’m continually spammed with spies from places like Nepal and Oman.

1. Button to show all movement arrows without selecting units implemented in HoI2 Armageddon IIRC.
+1 really good idea. Yesterday while moving a lot of German units I had to click on the units contently to remember where they were moving, in order not to send a second corps to a province...

* +1 to the idea of a in game OOB manager with click and drop of units. IT IS A MUST while playing SOV or Germany....

* 3rd HQ Brigade... while creating new corps playing Germany the new corps HQ Brigade name is always the same... should be easy to change that

* in some pop-up messages there is strange dates like "1936.1.3.1"

1. I have played as UK and Italy and however I am the other never tries to stop me in North Africa. The UK keeps the few starting units they have east of Suez and don't bring any more troops to Africa. Italy doesn't either and I've never seen the Afrika Corps there.

2. Japan. I have never played a game where they haven't lost to China. They normally start off OK, but due to "threat" system, they keep the majority of there forces on the USSR boarder, overextend themselves and get pushed back and defeated by China and her allies. I also see regularly that Japan's islands and even home islands get lost to China, Japan's Navy is in a completely different league to China's, how is it possible for troops to even get to the islands, let alone occupy them?

3. Threat. This is what I think the cause of the above issues and many others concerning AI. It simply doesn't work. They just go on the strength of the nearest power without any regard to diplomatic relations it seems. Hence why Japan keeps most of here army on the Soviet boarder.

4.Historical events. I know that you made the game so it doesn't follow history, but it is a WWII game. I would say 99% of the people here who bought HoI III did so because it was WWII based. If not they would have bought one of your other games. I've played many games, and the only event I can count on happening is the SCW. This happens totally randomly though. Most of the time WWII fails to start, Austria becomes an ally to Germany, Czech doesn't get annexed, Germany doesn't war Poland. Without WWII HoI II is one of the most boring games you can buy, NOTHING happens. I can't think of a time in the last 150 years which had so little happening as HoI III does when WWII doesn't start. Why would anyone want to play such a game? Can't you make an option in the menu before you start a game so we can choose if it follows history or not? I think most of us are waiting for mods to make HoI III a "HoI" game, but they are not as reliable as you, PI.

5. Brigs, Divs ect names. When you make a new unit/Corps ect as Japan, Russia, Germany, all the groups or w.e are called "1st Corps" "1st Air Wing" ect ect. What happened to at least having these in the language of the nations your playing? It seems stupid to be playing Russia on the Eastern Front with your "1st Air Wing" slogging it out over Moscow with Germany's "1st Air Wing".....
