I dont even want it to be EUish, let alone vickyish, and that CK game doesn't interest me at all. I just want HOI to be more of what it already is. Just more, thats all.

You can put those worries to rest. While DR, Scythe and I are big contributors to the Victoria VIP mod and are betas for HOI2, we certainly recognize that it is a totally different game and wouldn't try to turn HOI2 into Vic. Not that Johan would let us. We want the games to be different as much as you.

1. Always greatest concern for SP players, AI so poor there is less challenge (and yes, I know the answer is MP ). HOI (and Vic and EU and I don't have CK ) are still a good SP experience, so not much risk.
2. Click, Click, Click .... I sure hope there are some easier ways to upgrade infrastructure, etc. than in HOI. (and easier ways to get info).

Thanks Aprof, that and the screenies have me pretty much convinced thats not a realistic worry, but that would be my biggest fear, tho I dont think its a realistic one.
My worst fears have been largely dissipated:
1) That it would be MOO3-esque in its evolution, thus destroying the beauty of the original.
2) That it would get away from being a primarily military game with economic and political overtones.
The screenshots have made me a happy camper.

My biggest fear - a premature release. If HoI 2 coninues the Paradox reputation of having poor bug ridden games with great potential, well there is a lot of competition in the market. I REALLY want Paradox to make some money off this so that they can continue to give us more great games and I feel that it is crucial to the company image (and therefore sales) that this one is released relatively 'clean'.
Well, I bet it will be available from their online shop as soon as it is released in Scandinavia.
