In the first 5 years of the game as Charrua (little guy in Argentina) I had 2 comets and 3 of my rulers died. Suffice to say i didn't play that game through.

Play as a horde, use conquest CB while thinking of using tribal CB. Then, claim load of lands in one war, and wonder why on hell all my neighbours are in a coalition against me (tribal CB = 0.25 AE VS 0.75 or full AE for conquest CB). Realize it will take more than a century to make up for this and conquer anything again. Ragequit.
As PLC in war with the Ottomans, I moved my army past my march Moldavia who was sieging a province with 2 regiments, as soon as I entered they ordered an assault and had 15k of my 60k manpower slaughtered right at the beginning of the war, Ottoman army arrived and smashed my artillery which was pretty much all that was left in that army -_- felt bad man
Playing as Silesia, declaring independence and not taking my other core in the war.

Started up as Zapotec, managed to slap around the Mixtec and Totonac, but I had rivaled and laid a claim on a province against Kiche. They're allied with the Aztecs, who I am as well, but I think "No problem, I'll hit the Totonac one last time and then I'll DoW Kiche while the Aztecs are allied with me."
Yeah, I was trying to be super cheesy. Totally forget that in AoW the rules on that have changed a wee bit. Ended the war with the Totonac with my complete victory, head over to slap the Kiche down... and, months after the war started, the Aztecs break their alliance and join the war against me. Army gets sandwiched between the Kiche's "eh" stack and the doomstack lead by Monte "Freakin" Zuma. My army dies immediately, Kiche, Aztec, and some other ally of there's pours in.... and rage quit.
And it was my first Ironman "go" with the Zapotec. Everything was going great, had a 6/5/6 ruler in his 30s, and... it all ended. Peace would've costed me everything I'd earned and then some, not to mention my army was wiped off the map. After the rage quit, I had to try like six more times to have that level of success again. But now I know: don't piss off the Aztecs until Montezuma is dead and buried.

In my first ever game in eu4 I was having a fairly successful run as France. Having decided to focus quite a bit on the new world I thought I would attack the aztecs (who had all of Central America) as I was pretty obsessed with getting loads of gold provinces.
I successfully occupied all of the Aztec provinces, however I had not yet grasped how overextension worked and decided to demand full annexation. I was very pleased with myself when Central America turned Blue but soon realised that I had over 250 overextension which wasn't a very good thing, it's safe to say I didn't take that save up to 1821.

Wow. Just did it. Ordered 30 twodeckers, 2 moths later improved diplotech to lvl with threedeckers.
Decided to compete for the Danish throne as the Byzantines against Russia on Ironman mode. Bad move.
