Well, the idea of this thread is to share your most impossible goals in EU4 and if you ever achieved or is yet to be achieved.

I'll share mine for example:
Play as Verden and colonize a caribbean region and have Anacaona. (I was lucky that the Burgundian princes got their independence by Imperial Mandate).

How about yours?

Oooo. So the following are runs that I've tried or thought about doing and failed -- would be cool if someone picks it up :)

  1. No core wc. I have a dream to do a one tag WC without any cores. And I mean no cores, no HRE renovatio/diplo annex/w.e nonsense -- end the game on 20k OE. It's theoretically possible, but it requires save scumming the right ruler trait and most of all a lot of pain and sadness.
  2. No horde/HRE one tag pre 1600 WC -- I failed once, and JustBlazin is about to pull it off using a new strategy I proposed. Given that someone will do it, I'm probably never going to do it, but even with my strategy it's still a hell of a difficult run
  3. Sub 1 hour BBB -- this is a RTA (real time attack, or IRL time) speedrun, and I've recently been practicing a lot of EU4 RTAs in preparation for a (segmented) 100% achievements RTA speedrun. I can get BBB in 1hr 30min reasonably consistently, but I imagine someone with a lot better skill + computer + maybe route than me can do it sub 1 hour.
  4. No mil tech (no hre one tag) WC. There's that famous insane run from pure_anger, but I can't even imagine how you'd pull it off in 1.30 with 10:1 wipes partially being nerfed.
    1. No tech WC. Take it a step further. No idea groups is even more pain.
  5. Pre 1600 X -> Roman Empire. I've done it as Florence, I've seen it done as Byz, and so on, so it's not impossible. The challenge though is to do it with nations that are quite unorthodox, like Korea, Ryukyu, Prome, etc. That'll be fun :D

And the following are difficult runs that I'm proud of:
  1. 1531 WC (see signature) in 1.29 -- oh man, the amount of planning and research it took for this was insane. I recall spending over 6 hours in one particular year where I conquered all of Mexico while immediately forcing my capital there. I also had to investigate and come up with ways to manipulate native migration RNG since my new world wasn't at a great state
  2. My 1487 Oirat revoke in 1.30.3 (link) -- it took a lot of creativity and research to route a fast revoke with the new HRE system. I felt like showcasing a fast revoke was enough to prove that a 1530s WC is possible on this patch, so I didn't continue with the run. HRE has additional bonkers mechanic to make the post revoke WC experience much easier then in 1.29 though, and my current prediction is that you can WC around 1515 on current patch (perhaps 1515 WC should be added to my first list).

My goal is One Faith without extensive use of vasals for convertion. It feels possible, but I've been banging my head against this achievement for some time.

Conquering the world was no problem (at least in 1.29, haven't done it in 1.30, lowered Admin efficiency bites me), but doing the conversion myself means I need to conquer the world with a country with extra missionary strength and no CCR/Admin efficiency. Tried Coptic Hindustan, Castile. Now undergoing a Najd -> Mughals (keep ideas) run. Comtemplating using Lotharingia as well, since they have both CCR, an extra missionary and otherwise great ideas.

I know you can cheese it with conquering the world, except a OPM on an island, deleting all forts, spawn religious rebels, declare war on the OPM and let them convert the world.

Anyway, better players than me will probably do it with no issue, but I want to figure this one out myself.

Play whole game as OPM without any expansion (from 1444 to end game and have only 1 province)
I did with Frankfurt, staying OPM imperial free city whole game.

My goal is to finally do a world conquest. I lack the patience and mental toughness so far to go past 1600s.

Not to build any buildings.

I always start off great, but eventually get bored by the gameplay, so I start calculating which buildings would be most profitable. At first I say - I'm not going to build any that take more than 50 years to get the return on investment. Soon enough, that limit is moved to 100 years.

Play whole game as OPM without any expansion (from 1444 to end game and have only 1 province)
Look at this achievement suggestion I made :p

My personal goal is to have a game that says entertaining till the end date. I have only hit the end date about three times in ca. 1300 hours. The last 100 years were not really interesting, it's just tedious comp stomp. A low priority, upgraded version of the same goal is to have an mp game with decent group get at/near the end. Unfortunately, there are glaring balance issues in eu4 that get enhanced in such environment, people start missing sessions, gameplay is slow (there is always one with a slow connection),...

My personal goal has always been to get as many 10-province colonial nations as possible. That includes an insane amount of vassal management and conquering provinces in other colonial regions on behalf of already formed colonial nations. I haven't been able to finish this achievement since the last update to the new world, but I got to the point where I had more merchants than there are trade nodes in the game.

I want to convent a game to V2 where the worlds most advanced countries are not in Europe but the continent of Africa instead. In order to do that I must start a as a central African country in EU4 and destroy all of the Major European countries by games end. Not manged to do it get as it is hard but it's a dream of mine.

20,000% OE means you're stuck with +1000 national unrest. At that point (or even "just" at 2,000% OE) the grace period granted by rebels doesn't do anything, how do you keep your country stable and with manpower in that scenario?

Culture Conversion to lose separatists and only give you Particularists is about the only thing I can see maybe having a chance, but...idk.

Tibet WC, no tag. Tibet provinces are worthless and cost so much to dev up. You start without Feudalism so you end up behind tech fairly fast. You get so few allies as your faith makes you unpopular to most nations.

The few things you have in your favour, ming can protect you for a while and you have a mission that gives you the option to become a horde, as a new nation. However for the sake of playing the War Lama, you can't go horde for this.

Closest I've gotten is all China and India before running out of time.

Yeah, you can get perma tribal rebels (or particularists, but I think horde is better for this). You'll be at perma 100% autonomy on everything but your capital, but that's okay, because you can overflow your army maintenance + use drill while massively over FL for manpower.

For the overflow bit, see my old reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/eu4/comments/e92ynm
If you dedicate say a 1k stack to drill at 7 FL, you can probably get on the order of 30k manpower a month from the massive professionalism spikes.
