Heh i actually have applied for a content designer (or rather it used to be scripter back then) but sadly, there is a requirement to be physically in Stockholm (or rather Sweden), which is a no go for me. But i vow, by Johan's name, some day ill make it.

Looking at their Google Play page they haven't only stolen Paradox assets but also Witcher, Rome II Total War and Medieval II Total War. All those Chinese companies bootleging/stealing assets for their 'games'... :mad: Not having copyright law in China doesn't help at all.

Just out of curiosity, why do Paradox require employee be physically in Stockholm/Sweden? We have Internet and many people worked from home nowadays. Get with the 21st century! :p

There are many good reasons/arguments for wanting to keep your development team physically in the same spot. Control of the process being one. The ability to communicate on the spot and resolve communication issues being another. Ability to reliably reach someone and get some message across etc.

Ultimately it doesnt really matter, that seems to be Paradox policy and one that isnt likely to change (i did ask Fredrik Wester the CEO, about it, and thats what he said more or less).

I also work in a team that has some people working from another countries and most of the time it just isnt as effective as having people in the office. Yes, working 1-3 days a week from home is ok, but the communication is just not that good if its more than that. Its so much easier to pop into an office next to you and have a quick face to face discussion than to email or call someone over skype. I feel that also reading people's body language is very important and the solutions we currently have don't really support that. Plus it helps to make people feel being more part of the team. It is considerably harder to poach employees that are part of a tight team rather than working from afar and not really taking part in any of the activites the teammembers might be doing. The last one is the major reason my current employer only allows working from afar for longer periods on very rare occasions.

Excuse me? Its a Hong Kong company. There are copyright laws here. @Killrig If your legal department takes action it should be removed quickly as HK has a rather efficient and British) legal system.

TL;DR: We shall see.

That's difficult to predict, honestly. It comes down to several factors but this is only a question that could be answered by our legal department. I've sent them the info so they will take it from here. This type of asset stealing happens all too often with indie teams and studios where copyright laws don't apply. It becomes far more difficult to control when the government where the studio is located doesn't concern itself with such instances.

It's also been known to happen on accident when an artist or someone in marketing doesn't properly vet what they're using to promote their game. Personally, I like to give someone the benefit of the doubt but when it is as blatant as this and resources have been lifted from multiple titles/studios/artists, it's appears to be intentional.
