your first ironman country?

i'm going to be a total wuss about this, but at the same time chose one of my favorite countries, and going to ironman portugal. i think i won't ragequit if i lose my navy, but i just might and then restart, but eventually i believe i can ironman it all the way and create an awesome trade empire with a huge south america colony

i'd like to think i could cope with a OPM in ironman but i have to just face it that i couldn't go through restarting so many times. portugal is nice and comfy, so i'll be doing the easy route

As insane as it sounds, I'm going to try an Ironman run as Cyprus. The Mediterranean islands shall all be mine! OR perhaps Naples, they have been my favorite since some EU2 mod I played.

Yeah I'll have to prioritise depending on how the game runs, but that's my initial ambitions to have before end game. See if I can create that. I'm expecting to have to fight the Colonial aspects rather than settle myself, but I'll see what's possible at the time I guess.

I'd like to iron man France with the following goals -

1) Consolidate France's proper borders. However, I may go full out & conquer France's entire cultural sphere so speak, so that includes Romandy in Switzerland and Wallonia in Belgium.
2) Protestant reformation in France during the 1530's. A northern European Protestant alliance headed by England and France? Clearly the Church would be shaking in their boots.
3) Create some sort of a respectable trade empire.
4) Create a colonial empire with roughly the borders of the colonies in 1715 at their greatest extent (and a bit more...)

I've had it in my mind to do a Protestant France game for some time. I've merely not gotten around to it.

england is up there on my list too. there's room to suffer and still get out a quagmire, plus there's a huge continent waiting to get colonized

England. I'm going to try to get out of France because if it's anything like Eu3, if you beat France early you've already won the game and that's just dull.

Going to be playing a more peaceful game, but not gonna allow myself to be a sissy and reload if I do something dumb.
