IMHO it would be little better to wai for the Khitan game for a later release, as there are still some holes in the early 12th century history (there are still many minors mising in Persia which makes the situation there playable but not as historical as SWMH would deserve).

I decided in the end to start with one of the regional powers in the 867 start for the time being, since I saw it noted that the 1200ish bookmarks aren't really fully complete yet. Still getting a good experience out of it.

Congrats for the release !

I went to see some intriguiing starts in the Iranian world... Which brings some comments / questions (or more "wishlist items" you may just disregard :rolleyes:)

Is the fact that the city Siraf (province Irahistan) is the province capital but the holder is feudal? Should not this be a "Republic"? I know, we don't have much information about the governance of Siraf, just that it was an important trading city connected to the Indian subcontinent so I understand that you may have decided so :(

A Siraf Republic game with Zoroastrian and Indian "Patricians" would be so neat, even if getting dangerously close to fantasy...

The other question relates to an Afshin start in Ohrusana. Nice set up! :) But a small comment or question. When looking at a possible Soghdian revival game, I immediately became Tajik. Well, again, in 867 I recognize that the Soghdian culture is disappearing... But still, I wish a player could decide to retain it. After all, the Yagnubi language spoken in the Zarafshan valley today just next to the in-game province of Ohrusana is considered a "survival" of the Sogdian language.

Then, let me continue on my Afshin dream and make a suggestion. What about including these guys (the Sajid) related to the Ohrusana Afshin? Encoding them as (still) Afshin dynasty, but probably not Soghdian anymore could generate nice alliance possibilities ;)

So I've been having a fun time with my Finland game that I started as an alternate to my eastern one. Formed the Kingdom of Sweden, got split into Suomi and Sweden when my king died. So then I'm the Finnish (I forget which exact culture) king of Sweden and convert to Asatru, then realize that I can prepare invasions. And I'm looking over at muslim spain which has been having issues, and I'm thinking...hm. Finnish Spain. Should I?

my previous ruler an amazing general and conquer with a martial score of 37 who also happens to be a paranoid lunatic. he is the guy you start the game as and he ruled a super long time and cranked the theme system all the way up to restored during his great reign.

my current Emperor just became ruler after the peaceful death of his father and has begun his reign with tons of bribery from money that i saved up for the occasion and like his father he is a great general though still far behind his martial score at a mere 27. i have great plans for him.

I'm glad you like them. I put a lot of effort into finding as many names as i could. If you find a spelling error or a name that i've overlooked do feel free to bring it up. I can quickly add it to the landed_titles file or one of the localisation files

I noticed that everyone feudalizes too quickly, especially hordes. They are also weirdly overpowered, for example a chunk of Pechenegs split off from them and stole lands in Bulgaria, then it magically wrecks the Pechenegs, then they conquer everything south of Kiev and in Southern Russia, then they make the Byzantine Empire their tributary. Then there are a bunch of Hordes in Russia that own completely random provinces in there, are all feudalized and culture convert things left and right.

Playing as Venezia from 1066 start. 50 years in and i'm glad to see several merchant republics have formed in the east. One is a Kypchak naval empire near Odessa contesting my trading empire in the Byzantine Empire, and a Georgian vassal in the eastern Black Sea has also become a republic. There's also one near Tunis and one near ancient Cyrene. It's certainly spicing up my game.

I actually like that last part. Its a good way to simulate paying off "barbarians" to stop raiding. Only problem occurs when the tributary is called into wars, that may be a bit implausible realistically with the ERE.
