Excluding the Tourtrial of Course.

Well my first one was with the Ottomans, at that time ( some 3 years ago) i didn't even know english, i remember when i spent 15 minutes just to conquer Raguza, and in the end (when i discoverd diplomacy) i realised that i just control it, not own it :p . Anyway that was my worst game ever, i went bakrupt many times, was screwed up by other nations etc etc  .

I had like 65% or more inflation by 1550 when I played as Castile. Luckily I had already found CK previously and thus the forums and had some idea of wtf I was doing...but only barely.

My first game of CK (my first paradox game) I took about 7-8 tries to conquer Ireland. And I didn't even think of using marriage to get more powerful until my then girlfriend suggested it to me after I let her play for perhaps an hour.

My CK experience was never the same after that.

M first Eu2 experiance was with Bavaria, and the retail version, when Bavarias colour was orange. Had a blast, plenty of inflation, but I didn't care. Got squezed in the middle of France and Austria which were allied, against me...two front war is never fun. Ended up master of Europe and dishonorable scum.

Ah memories! My first serious game long ago was with England. I remember being totally confused about reformed and protestant, because they were synonyms for me. But discovering the American East Coast with names like Adirondack. Catawba and Penobscot was pure magic! But then in the beginning of the 18th Century I had serious revolts, England broke apart and some provinces formed a new nation called "Royalist England" or similar. Shortly after they were walking around in fancy 18th Century uniforms, while I still had the old Arquebusiers. Scared me as hell; reconquest was out of the question. But then the 1749-bug struck (does anyone remember that one?) and put mercifully an end to it. After that I put the game on a shelf until much later. Only later I discovered this forum.

My very first game was with Spain; I conquered some N African provinces and was shipping troops back and forth to there from Spain (to crush rebellions); eventually I got explorers but I didn't know attrition so they died very fast.
My first completed game was also with Spain; I understood the game a lot with it, and the funniest thing was that I vassalized Granada early on and because I didn't like the -3 stab for dowing them they continued existing until the end.

This certainly brings back memories. First try was as Austria. Didn't bother reading the manual or what so ever, since I thought that EU2 wouldn't be all that different from EU1. So, Ottomans declared war and I went on a conquest rampage. Took me 15 years and a bankruptcy, but in the end I had conquered the whole Ottoman Empire.
Ok, now time to annex them... I searched and searched but couldn't annex them and revolts were popping up all over the place. What the **** was my first thought. So, looked it up in the manual and there it was. No forced annexations of whole countries with several provs.
Got frustrated and put the game aside, only to play it 1 month later.
What can I say... Children... :D

My first game? Byzantium... I had conquered with Manuel most of Asia Minor and the Balkans... With Ioannes VIII I took the whole Mediteranean World... cheating like a bastard with mercenaries (one thing I did not like: why couldn't I create them outside Europe? it was a bitch making them in Cilicia and driving them towards Egypt :))

My first game was with Sweden, damn 1.00 sucks big time ;)
But I manged to do very well. The Svea Rike III spirit was transformed into Eu2.
I took half of Northern Europe.
Cheated quite a bit though.

But I won't talk about Sweden's colonies, technology nor inflation. :D

My first game was Scotland. It didnt last long; I got bounced on by the English and they never stopped. Several bankrupcies later I was annexed. Really not much to tell.

My first game getting to the end was with Castille (Spain) and I did rather well (annexed Portugal fairly early on) and so the colonisable world was my oyster. My colonial rivals were France, England Venice and Sweden!

First game was USA, trying to hold off those pesky Englishmen. Even turned out all right, sort of. Though I didn't know what "national provinces" even were....

My first EU2 game wasn't as dreadful experience as many others seem to have, but then again I had played EU1 before that, so I had quite a nice idea what the game was about. I can't actually recall what I was playing though, prolly Ottos, it was all too long time ago...

My first game was as 1617 Sweden. I started with around 2-3K ducats, but I spent it all in a couple of months, by building governors (at 0% inflation) and manufactories. Then I restarted and spent my money on mercenaries for an invasion of Russia. I defeated them with my Swedish hordes, but I incurred a few debts. It took me far too long to learn what that "nationalism" thing was.

My second game (really) was as Byzantium. I got squashed, but a precedent had been set. 90% of all the games I've played have been as either Byzantium or Sweden. :p

My first game was with Norway. I almost took Stockholm from the Swedes. I also took provinces in Russia and Germany.. Except for that, I colonized larger parts of North America, mainly the icy provinces of Northern Canada..

it was very cool.. I remember I had many problems understanding that building upgrades was good.. also much frustrating in the trade and diplomacy..

but it was very nice.. interesting to get a feel of history..

My first game was on EU1, as Poland. I had no idea that in order to get control of a province in a war one had to siege it (of course I ignored the manual) and lacking understanding of a lot of other things my campaign became a disaster very soon and I threw the game away for a few weeks before trying it again. ;)

I found EUII a few months after I discovered EU. I jumped at it since I had so much fun with EUI. My first EUII game was as England. For some reason I couldn't hold on to anything in France but I managed to capture a couple Scottish provinces, that was, until they took them back. I made a hasty peace.

My Navy saved my behind from total annihalation for awhile. I never used diplomacy in EU because I had not discovered the second page (the one with the gifts and warning and stuff), and Royal Marriages just seemed to cost me stability when I tried to declare war.

In the end, France would not make peace until I gave up tons of provinces, and Scotland took the opportunity to start the war up again the following month. Revolts, inflation, and the total collapse of the remainder of my Army followed in rapid succession. It was ugly.

I didn't come back to the game for two years, when I systematically went through all my old games deciding which ones to throw into the trash. It was one of the few games that still played on my new computer system at the time. I did fairly well, for a while, as the Iroquois, and never looked back.

Memories... I miss being able to play 'X-COM:UFO Defense'. The DOS emulator only let me play one month of that game before it crashed out. At least I have EUII v1.09. Kudos for 1.09! (Is it just me or is the computer smarter about sticking with a siege these last few patches?)

I jumped in at the deep end and took a one province minor, Wallachia, for my first game. I did surprisingly well, in spite of having 100% inflation by the middle of the 16th century. Thanks to a weird game, the Ottomans didn't conquer Byzantium until well after 1490 and I survived reasonably well.

My first time was with England. I had HOI1 before EU2, so I fought the Hundred Year's War like a little version of a HOI campaign. This was back when the French minors offered white peace when Paris fell, so it was fairly linear...I took nearly everything, and crushed Scotland, too. Next thing I knew I had revolts all over France...the invading Aragonese troops did a better job wiping them out than I did...

It's almost a year ago I got EUII and my first game was as the aztec empire. I didn't know the game functions very well and what is good and not so I went for concure as much as possible. First I begun colonizing and when I had a border whit Navaho I dowed and annexed. Then I continued to colonice both north and south while building an army to annex Zapotec. THen I DoW:ed and crossed the border. However I wasn't abel to take all of the provinces as the enemy army was to big (If the mayas had helfed whit their huge army I had won but they didn't move). I only took one province in the peace. I continued to colonice and then I did finnish off Zapotec and this time I annexed them. Then it was only the mayas left. As I had diplo vassaled them I was now abel to diplo-annex them. Just some year later I finnished colonizing as I controlled everything I knew about. Around then I saw that spain was in that penisula in the east. Form here I think it took about hunderd years untill I got my first random conquistodor. The first thing was to get to know about spain. Then I inreasted relations with them and excanged maps. Now I continued my colonizing south wared agains Incas but only gaining a few provinces. Somehow I got a colony in dakar which I expanded to a city. An army was build and I got military acces through several contries to the contry of C-something in northen africa (controlling just the next most west province that the mamelukes have in GC). I still has the savegame somewere and it's about 1670. I have land tech 2 and I won't get 3 untill the game is over. Someday when I am as good as those guys who can do a WC with Xotha or Trebisond (it's never gonna happend in our ages) I maybe know what to do in that game and play it to the end. :)

The first game I played, I chose Dai Viet and instantly made war on Champa. I annexed them and then turned on Cambodia, Laos and the rest. Eventually I was the master of south-east asia when my BB (I didn't know it existed!) caused China to lay the smackdown on me, crushing me utterly.
