They didn't build it... they inherited it from someone who got annexed (I don't remember who, probably Italy or the UK), and I was still at war with them.

It most probably was Nepal, who is an ally. I once annexed Britain and they got all it's navy.. for like a week Nepal was owning more ships on earth than all other nations combined (USA and J sunk each other, I didn't built much ships)

Well, I just picked this game up last week, so far I finished a near flawless near-victory as Germany. My allies and I had control over all of Europe and Africa. Japan just had to get dominated. *sigh*
So, I just started a new game as Greece, and declared war of Bulgaria, which prompted the Soviet Union and allies to declare war on me, which cause Germany, Yugoslavia, and Czechoslovakia to declare war on them, causing Italy, Austria, Romania and Hungary to declare war on them, causing the Allies to side with Germany, Yugo, and Czechoslovakia.
So I effectively started another World War from within the Balkans. Imagine that. Did I mention that all the declarations of war happened within a week of each other in January, 1936?

Happened to me once as well, taught me to check who guarantee who's independence before I DoW any country

eastern europe is terrible for that. i believe someone refers to the situation as the Balkan gang-F*** or soemthing like that. too much aggression from anyone will kick off ww2 within seconds. kinda like ww1 i suppose.

Well, its good to know I'm not the only one to screw the world over in a week.

I was playing as the U.S and to shake things up I created good relations with the Axis nations and made the Soviets really mad. I created an American Dictatorship, Joined the Axis and sent an invaision force to the U.S.S.R...too bad I forgot about Canada...

I made a new bummer, playing as Denmark to see if I could survive with only my capitol and zealous amounts of fortifications. Spent the pre-war period with building up both IC and fortifications, but it was coastal ones, and they don't help at all when the enemy crosses the islands.

I did survive the initial onslaught and build up land forts instead, but misclicking once while checking up on my army sent them all eagerly marching straight into germany. You can guess the rest. :wacko:

As Japan, I lost my only three decent transport divisions to US carriers. They sneaked through my two carrier fleets screening the sea zone to kill three green marine divisions in their little boats.

Playing as Trotskyist USSR in Mod33.
Expected Barbarossa not to occur due to sucking up to Germany, and focusing our armies along a great wall of land defenses. Never recovered, but Japan never joined the Axis. Oh, and America had broken into a civil war, so I couldn't request supplies from anyone.

What's your biggest goof playing Hoi2? I just made my (Ge '36, 1.3, TRP) first one.

I wanted to make sure I had medium tanks before I invaded Russia. I have medium tanks alright, but medium tank brigades ... not medium tanks. Argh! So now I have all these brigades which I can't deploy and brigade technology that I don't need. :rofl:

Now off to research that light *tank*.

I should have played Italy first....

The Second World War, was perhaps one big goof up. All the powers at war, were trying to undo goof ups, during the war.
