You should be able to annex provinces in a trade conflict

Literally nobody even uses this CB because nobody goes to war for any reason but to take territory, fighting for ducats alone is totally pointless. Is there any historical precedent that you can't use trade as a casus belli to take land? Didn't Venetians, Genoans etc... go to war and take land overseas all the time with the issue of trade as the backdrop? Please, make this CB useful, it would come a long way in breaking the mould of just generically blobbing in your own neighbourhood ad infinity. This way I could at least historically role play as some Italian city state or something, using trade as a motivation to take colonies up and down the coast without having to rely on these silly missions which give me permaclaims to conquer the whole world.

I'd just like it if Trade Wars were actually quick, and yielded more benefits without making you occupy enemy territory. The Wargoal alone should be able to carry you to 50-100% in a Trade War (with increased tick speed), specifically to offset the penalties or requiring specific conditions to start the trade war, and of you being unable to take provinces or other concessions. Otherwise, you might as well just wage a conquest war for a vulnerable island province and just take that chance to demand gold.
