I don't know if this has ever been mentioned before, but I just did it in my last game as Germany.

Normally I scrap some of my old junk subs, like the SS1 and two SS2's I start with once my SS4's come online. This time I decided to do something a bit differant. I sold them to GREAT BRITAIN.

They were willing to pay: MAX ON ALL SLIDERS. So 5k of everything except cash, which I only got about 3600 worth of, for three SS units which I consider worthless and was planning on using for target practice.

I don't know if this was already considered an exploit or not, since I've never done it before, or seen it on this board.

Feb 1939 with -60 relations from a 36 GC as Germany. Took all historical options so far. 1.3b1 ARMA I also sold all three in one shot, you might get that for just one, so check that too.

Uhhh.... never mind. I'm a retard. I kinda agreed to give them 5k of everything AND all my cash, not the other way around. My bad. It was an honest mistake!

In some versions of the game you can trade units with non-allied nations.

Well I have the same version as he, and I can't. I never played any versions except 1.3 DD 1.2 ARMA 1.3b ARMA so don't really which versions allow you to sell units.

I have Arma 1.3b and can't - I missed that - I do recall from an earlier version you could think it was Doomsday 1.1 (but don't quote me) - (unless it was a bug in that game).

I think that was only up to ARMA 1.2...

Ok just booted up Arma 1.3 latest beta and done a quick test as the UK (36GC). Results are as follows:

Allied Nations

Can offer and receive:

- Blueprints
- Resources
- Provinces
- Units

Non-Allied Nations

Can not offer or receive:

- Provinces
- Blueprints

Can offer and receive:

- Resources

Now the confusing part:

I can offer units to another (non-allied) Nation but when I click on their Divisions tab to try and trade units from them it is blank. Tried this on a few nations whom I know have units at the start (US, Germany and Italy) but all where blank.

Sorry to say that, but what's all this fuzz about? It's been like this for all versions of HoI2. You can sell units to whomever you want, but in order to buy equipment you need to be allied. Not that hard.

You could buy and sell provinces in a version of vanilla HoI2 without being allied.

The only change was early on. Change was to disallow buying units from non-allies. Players could exploit this by buying a country's units at an exorbitant price in resources only to invade and conquer the country and get the resources back again (or most of them at least). Early on the game was changed so you can only sell (but not buy) with non-allied countries.
