So true. A good history teacher would know about the Dutch and Swedish attempts at colonies on the eastern seaboard, and at least make mention of New Amsterdam before the English consolidated control of the area.

For me it was the opposite when I knew of the Lord of the Rings, since I was born in the current region still named Aragón, hehe

I knew about the Dutch in America long time ago because of the game "Colonization". Classy! ^^
