OK, so I started an ICG playing as France.
Things were going well enough, I vassilized Baden and Wurtenburg, seized Helvatia, kept alliances with Savoy and the papel states. I even paid off England so that they would like me. I beat Napoleon by several centuries and invaded parts of N. Africa (tripoli and 2 Egyption provinces I took from the Ottomans).
Later on I took over Hanover by seaborne invasion. For a long time I had foolishly ignored Spain, its Alliance with Lorraine, England, Poland, Nevarra, and Naples assured I would be ringed with enemies.
I built up my military techs and economy, and aside from Protestant uprisings in the German provinces had no real problems. After Spain's alliance broke up I decided I should attack now before it got even stronger.
Unfortunately even after the Netherlands declared independence Spain had diplo annex'd Naples and Lorraine, and was strong enough to take 2 of the 4 Netherlands provinces. Very powerful in central europe.
A month after i DoW'd them random event: 50% cut in the Kings stats. Sucks.
My allies and I manage to putz the Spaniards good. Random event: all of my continental provinces have a +5 chacne to revolt.
I take 2 provinces from Spain, I have a kingdom with Sunni's, Catholics, Protestants, Reformists, and Counter-Reform Catholics. Cant please 'em all. The protestants contnue to revolt (Alexandria was a rich CoT and Tripoli and the delta provided rich trade income so I wanted to keep the muslims happy)
So my armies are running all over the bloody place putting down revolts when......
Random event: Civil War. Half my French provinces are rebel held, both of my good generals and most of the continental Army are rebel.
I had already taken out loans to smash Spain ( I didnt think it would go nearly so well ) Those armies who went rogue are pretty huge.
Reload.
