Because those are not gifts but loans, and they just want to not repay that. But greece have one of the best armies in europe, due it's being on NATO frontier, so if they would want, they could just say "Screw you, we won't repay this debt".

They are, just look as spartans, macedonians, thebians, athenians. Also while they lost to germans and in WW2, they beaten italians pretty badly, so they had to call germans in (and german army was second best army in the world(First was USSR army - genesis of why russians lost, was they were attacked, and the disorganization due to german attack made them all run(most of cars that russians got, were not captured, while most of tanks were XD), because they didn't expected german invasion, and they were preparing invasion themselves - but that is offtopic, so don't answer it, and if you dissagree, then pm me, we can speak about it)).

Well they beaten a bigger country, and forced them to call in allies. So yes that is... however i agree italians were not known to be the bravest warriors... Still for me it seems greek can fight their way if they are not just overwhelmed. And the western europeans, are too demoralized to mean much in battles. Maybe only exception could be germans, but i wouldn't count on them too much.
