yeah, in austria too.
btw. have been to ljubljana last summer. its a damn smooth city, i've got to say.

If any one of you international guys is thinking about vacation in europe, you can defenitely give slovenia and kroatia a try.
very nice places to be, and the both capitals are a must see.

but actually right now I'm thinking about making a tour to the former ottoman empire. But I'm not sure if I should go through hungary, serbia, bulgaria/romania to the black sea (along the danube), and then south, or more along the adriatic coast to see some of the good old greek provinces and new rebel countries..

or better to the baltics? and maybe moskva.. has anybody of you ever been there?

Ljubljana is a nice place to be, but a bad place to live. Its cloudy 24/7, you are lucky to see the sun.

yeah true, it had a very different climate then southern austria and croatia.
seems to be something like between the mountains or so. but that day was pretty nice, it was one of the hottest weeks that year.

I am pretty sure Iraq was a 'Fabricated Documents' CB. And who to think only Monarchs could get these... mmm...

no, they didn't have a CB at all. thats why their reputation skyrocket, and their stability went down (it just means that there is less stability in this country, and yes i assume thats exactly what happened.).
and they got a pretty heavy drop in relations with other countries of the United Nations.

and right now, the stability still hasn't recovered since the united states have a huge amount of provinces, and have to mint like crazy because of their huge military upkeep.

wow, right now, I'm really impressed by paradox. I think they have some genious plan behind this game that just no one understands..

You're playing too much EU3 if you think that games like these will be used for professional simulations of world politics and country management in the mid future.
Paradox should keep that in mind, because they could make a as$load of money with such a thing. and it would be pretty awesome too, and would provide better management for a country, because with such a simulation you can keep the overview a hundret times better.

Do it!

That event is all about the modifiers.

First one must be completely narrowminded. completely centralised. Then one must spend a lot of money to enact the date event which requires one diplomat. In game it is an initial 50 percent chance with odds increasing on each date attempt.

Considering the amount of people in this thread who have said they owe their great grades in Geography and/or History at school (of which I count myself as one in both too) to playing EU3 and similar games, should that mean they are posted in a "You know you play too much EU3 when..."?

Shouldn't they be posted in a "You know your country has a shoddy educational system when..." off-topic thread? ;)

Nope, the problem with educational systems is that they rarely engender interest in the subjects being taught, good games on the other hand can cause people to become interested in the subjects the game touches or is based on.

And without having an interest in the subject, people rarely take that extra step to learn more about it.

-When a priest scolds a guy, you beat the guy up for being excommunicated.

-When you wonder how someone could travel around the world in 80 days, when in EU3 it takes you 80 days to move 2 provinces.

-When you wonder why USA chose to vassalize Iraq and Afghanistan instead of making them release the Jalayrids and Baluchistan respectively.

In my case, there was a breach in the walls but my army was not strong enough to assault her.:(

Yeah, this may be just me, but man, but if I didn't read the world "heart" I'd think you threw a brick in her window but didn't have enough men to overpower the family and commence with the raep.
I've been on the internet for too long...

A true Byzantine Knight like me would never do such thing. That's what barbarian Turks do.:p
