Following the advance into Pacifican Territory, the Operation Codenamed Red Dawn, was commenced on instruction from Jack Reed. It was hastily drawn up but the basic estimate that it would take the PSA a good month to react to Syndicate troops, and therefore all divisions were given objectives based on the average speed of the army and how much ground they could cover in that time.

Every objective was completed by the end of August, though the estimate was slightly off on the Pacifican response.

In Smoky Hill, William Z. Foster's command, a rather infamous group of soldiers by this point and a hard core of some of the devoted elements in the Syndicate army came across the 17th California 'Orange Pickers' Irregulars and soundly thrashed them in combat - Foster's troops advancing in order and decimating the foe without any fear whatsoever. After the battle was won Foster ordered an airstrike against the retreating troops, and the opposing force was decimated.

August 28th saw the lines form in the North that would remain there. Meanwhile the armies that had been split going through the south, and texas began to amalgamate into larger and larger battlegroups. Knox, Merriman and Aalto all served with distinction in this theatre of the war, and by December, entry into San Diego was imminent.

Nice progress into West.

My advantage is that I inherited AUS armies and have been happily building my own with my now 5 times superior IC (the end of civil war flag has fired, so I got 'we have reintegrated the southland' giving me territorial claims on the PSA. Woo Casus Belli) whilst PSA does NOT inherit USA armies.

Conclusion - The only thing on their side are all the bloody mountains I have to pick my way through. Expect to see drastic measures to escape that tedium.

Like parachutes? :D

Did anyone get the Red Dawn Joke by the way?

And Re:paras - is there a doctrine or something you need? I build some in a vanilla 36 DD game as italy, and I couldn't even rebase my transports with Paras onboard never mind fly a drop mission :???:

It seems you allready moved. I see you sunk USS Saratoga CV
Red Dawn? That film about american youth resisting hypothetical SOV invasion?

Paras are fragile. Firstly you CAN'T use transports to ferry them. You can only drop them. And to drop them, they AND their planes must have max org- even a single ORG missing and you won't be able to perform a drop.

You need the "battlefield interdiction" air doctrine. Actually not sure of the name, but it's in with the TAC stuff, and I think that's it.:D

And I never ever ever use paras - just not worth it. I don't even research them until most everything else has been researched.;)

lol, you have a stalemate, but I saw that the Mongolians annexed Qing Empire  could you post some pics of the current world situation, or is this woven somewhere in your masterly plan?

I like the way you handle this AAR something different, but very nice :D

Yes, a picture of the world after this civil war would be interesting, particularly the situation in CoF, UoB, RoS, and other syndicalists as well as moves by Mitteleuropa.

Actually, in the first versions of Kaiserreich there were no events for the subjucation of the continent outisde of the CSA starting territory. It was actually kinda fun to cover the whole North America with garrisons and mobile groups to keep the Dixies and others in place :p

I have the most recent version of Kaiserreich. What tends to happen to me is that it gives me cores on the rest of the US I captured, but for former AUS territories I don't get anything, so Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama never become mine. The only one of those I get seem to be Tennessee, Virginia, and Florida through seperate events that fire. I have to manually launch event 908907 to get the rest of the AUS's cores.

...but you didn't get the peculiar feeling you only achieve when you have 150+ garrison&MP-divisions spread around over the continent (I took over Canada and Mexico too) to keep the bloody bourgeoisie in their rightfull place (=under the boots of the Redblack Guard)?

Yes, you have reached the PSA's heart, California! Just a little further and all of mainland America is now yours! :D

In defense of paratroopers, of course they're fragile - they're not meant to engage directly in combat, but to secure an airhead through which your land forces can then advance. Otherwise, they're just very, very light infantry.

Oh of course, spamming garrisons in occupied territories before I fired the event made it feel like the post-civil war reconstruction era. I just 'imagined' so to speak the AUS were continuing to lead from Cuba in exile, and I only fired the event once I took o... err liberated Cuba.

I played through, then managed to forget to save... so I've got 3 months to replay. :D

Crushing the bourgeoisie never gets old! It seems you've already liberated Dallas, so now I join the Red tide!

Canada are wusses. They gave me NE back. That said I do actually start placing infantry down as garrisons, just because by the time I strat deploy the troops to the frontline, it's moved two provinces.

Canada will only join the North American Civil War by event - and the belligerence of the participants hasn't risen above 20 yet.
