You might want to edit NGF's AI files and give them some leaders, for even without giving them extra provinces they have a pretty large IC yet spam only unbrigaded infantry and run out of commanders in a very short notice. The Polish puppet AI is pretty good, it makes tanks and brigades its troops. Even though I found it kinda silly when they made lvl II light tanks in '44 despite having my up-to-date tank techs. I don't even know how that is possible in the first place
But then again it naturally depends on what are your puppets created for. For just the sake of lowering TC load and keeping in line with the story, then sure. But if you want some benefits out of them then a largened North Germany is kinda bad option.
Anyways, if you want to get some challenge for the rest of the game I'd suggest you manually make Japan and Russia allies, then DOW/make them DOW you. They would sure as hell do something along those lines before getting overrun one by one by this Syndicalist onslaught that is clearly steamrolling all the good old monarchies around the globe...
My diplo map looks like risk.
I have Red Africa (Mittelafrika+NatFra+Liberia+Germany+Libya), Red India, Red Australasia (Dutch+Germany+Australasia), Green N and S America and most of Europe.
To be fair though, whilst a world war is fun, I play about 3 months a session and feel DRAINED. I'm tempted to demonstrate the ability to completely overpower a foreign enemy without reliance on anything other than my naval assets and such, and then maybe force seperate peaces with certain nations... (I can see the Ottomans pulling out before I stomp Istanbul, letting Delhi off the hook, and then having africa turn into Germany overseas... (how do I fire that event btw? Cos I conquered Ger, it went to my land rather than french, and having released puppets... :S))
Also, could you do that Kasakka? IR Sux Coding AI. >.<

The Kaiser sat at his desk in the bunker, rattling his fingers against the wood of the desk. Since the escape from Berlin the German Government had essentially been ran from this tiny room in the bunker. Behind him, there was the Imperial Flag, and on his desk were reports. The Polish division from the Austrian puppet had pulled back from the street fighting in Aachen. There were pictures on his desk and he stared at them slowly.
Troops in Aachen
The Americans had outmanouvered his armies, managing to invade through the Alps whilst the French scum had tied them down in a war as bloody as the Weltkrieg. He stroked his moustache and then stood up and walked to his door. Now they were outside, in the streets of Essen. Von Mackensen's command post in Bastogne had been obliterated. All his best generals were dead and buried in peace, the most insidious syndicalist weapon.
He pulled aside the steel blast door and stepped out into the corridor, shoving his weak left hand into his pocket as he stared up and down. He noticed that the Reichskriegflagge on the opposite wall was damaged. He grunted irritably and strode down the corridor, toward the MG emplacement. The men there looked edgy and nervous, though they smiled when he shook their hands. "Gott mit uns, Gott mit uns. Gott will protect us from the Syndicalist foe." He looked out of the open embrasure after a moment, then pulled aside the Colonel.
"When they come, I want these men out there. There are far too many soldiers in this building. I am the Kaiser of Germany. Not the Holy Grail. Half my guard, immediately! Keep the most loyal in here."

The guns had been going in the distance, but when the man less than 5 feet away from you opens up with an MG34 without warning, you find yourself jumping. So the Kaiser jumped and turned on his heel. 'Gott Mit Uns! An Iron Cross for every man!' The MG gunner fired a continuous burst as the Kaiserguard filed out into the woods around the building.
He fled back deeper in the bunker and collected his pistol from the drawer of his desk. He went back out the door, and aimed down the corridor. Bullets could be heard, and the screams of his men. They were being butchered by the hordes of Syndicalists. He imagined all of America empty from coast to coast, so that they might attack him in such numbers. Then he heard that most terrible sound. The sound of fire.
Each gout of billowing flame seemed louder than the last, and he could see from down the corridor the flames licking at the embracure of the the bunker, fast angry stinking fire. The Kaiser glanced around, and found a dropped MP40. He gritted his teeth and fired into the bright orange, the recoil nearly knocking him off his feet as he emptied the clip.
It was not meant to end this way for him, but it was how it was. He would meet his fate like a man. His son was safe in Mittelafrika, Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen would continue on... and he, would at least die fighting. Hopefully this flame would be the last he felt.
He walked toward the door to the bunker, having picked up a fresh gun from the smouldering Colonel and made his peace with god, before shooting at the flamethrower operator.
I understand. If I had one, I'd probably devote all of its considerable processing power and time-traveling abilities to runtime for the "Geschichte." Who needs coursework when you've got an AAR to finish?
