In CK2 game rules turn off "Titles Named After Dynasties" and "Cultural Title Names"

FSVtvxk.jpg

I converter CK2 1337 game start to show improvments: Ottomans, Granada, Tlemcen, Egypt, Tripoli, Karaman got nicer names and flags but its not only about names

WGbLeT3.jpg

With "cultures title names on" ottomans have general ideas and generic unit models but if you turn it off they got unique missions and unit models from EU4

p8V0i7n.jpg

And start with Ottoman Government reform

PVV3nq8.jpg

Same goes for other tags like Granada

Oh0FHjs.jpg

Or tags in India like Orissa

ZmmIxwp.jpg

and many others who have unique missions and units but EU4 converter convert them wrong if turn culture tags on in CK2

A0S6PBx.jpg

For some tags its just fix name and flag which is still nice

Unfortunately it does not fix ideas problem and all these tags still will get generic random ideas instead of existing unique ideas from EU4

I always found it annoying that the converter based EU4 country tags based on the names of the titles from CKII. That always seemed wildly inefficient and annoying. Why not just base it on the code for the Kingdoms? k_england is almost always going to correspond to ENG in EU4. So wouldn't it be easier to look for that when deciding what to convert to ENG? After all, there's a good chance it could be named Lloegyr, Sasana, or Britannia in any given file based on culture. And having to turn off cultural and dynastic titles takes a way a lot of the flavor that makes the game world so interesting and unique in each playthrough.

I once did a run through as Andalucia where I conquered all of Europe. I didn't want to control all of Europe in the CKII game, so I set free most of Europe's Kingdoms before I converted. But I gave them all names based on the Arabic words for the countries. So France became Ifraja, England became Inkiltarah, Burgundy became Burjān, etc. But none of their tags converted correctly, so each was counted as a generic country in EU4.

So to get them right, I had to go back to CKII, unname them, do the conversion, then go and mod the converted files to change the country names in the code. It was a pain.

It feels like it should be an easy fix. So I don't know why they don't just go back and make that change.

I feel like this should be considered a bug.

iirc the converter is still a solo-dev sideproject thing for the most part, hence why it receives very few updates to combine new CK2 mechanics with EU4 mechanics during conversion, its a lot of work

but this *seems* like one that should be easy to flag/fix

would be nice if we could get that dev (dont remember their name) to comment on it

Can the converter even be modded?
This might be a way to fix it.
