Both for gameplay and RP reasons I think we need an option to somehow get rid of megastructures.

Yeah the sensor range wonder tanks performance once you've built it or allied with somebody who has it.

I seriously don't see the appeal in letting people flush the single biggest resource sink in the game down the drain.Wrecked megastructures should be scrapable by construction ships - better only with new bigger & better construction ships that are enabled by mega-engineering or the collosal perk.

Colossi are already super situational. I'm down with giving them added strategic benefit. It'd be nice to actually use them in a war when you don't want to make the whole galaxy hate you by destroying colonies. It would also give you a reason to use the planet cracker, which is objectively the weakest and most wasteful colossi weapon.
