Megastructures are (or should be) of high strategic value and we should be able to decide whether we want to take it for ourselves or at least try to damage it if losing a war.
Also there are times when we don't really want those megastructures (lag, too much micro, just because, playing fanatic purifier and deeming it corrupted by alien activity, or whatever reason you can think of) and there's no reason to keep them invulnerable when you can crack planets into pieces.

Yeah the sensor range wonder tanks performance once you've built it or allied with somebody who has it.

Wrecked megastructures should be scrapable by construction ships - better only with new bigger & better construction ships that are enabled by mega-engineering or the collosal perk.

Add to that all that junk that floats around (Kettling worlds, Zanaam Gaia World) we should be able to clear that up and get some ressources in return.

Cleanse the Galaxy! - Not just of xenos but also of scrap (bonus speed for enviromentalism)

Needless to say shipyards should finally get the ability to scuttle ships for ressources too and possibly tech if the are event ships.

Nah. I seriously don't see the appeal in letting people flush the single biggest resource sink in the game down the drain.

You know what are even bigger resource sinks? Planets. But we're fine with getting THOSE blown up?

Colossi are already super situational. I'm down with giving them added strategic benefit. It'd be nice to actually use them in a war when you don't want to make the whole galaxy hate you by destroying colonies. It would also give you a reason to use the planet cracker, which is objectively the weakest and most wasteful colossi weapon.

-why walk all the way to Mordor?, or as simple as walking into Mordor...
-plougshares to swords, ringworlds to spaceships if #1 is to hard in terms of copyright

People really should accept that if they manage to build space wonders but can't protect them, nor build up a response while the enemy comes for them and the superweapon charges up, they are making risky investments...
If your enemy even has the time to pick up the scraps afterwards then you've basically lost anyway don't worry about your megastructures an enemy who has no qualms blowing up whole planets will kill you if you can't mount a response in that much time.

Also destroying and scrapping something like a Galactical Assembly (Diplo Wonder) or Xeno-Art Installation (Unity Wonder) makes perfect sense for some types of galactic empires (purifiers) why waste alloys and even bother restoring something like that if you encounter a damaged one.

Do you need another reason than the satisfied feelong you get when you see your rivals home planet turnes into mincemeat along with the rest of the xenos?

As the Global Pacifier gives +10 Society when use on habited planets, and the World Cracker gives a deposit of 4-16 Minerals If a habitable world is shattered... then Destroyed Megastructured should gain something like a deposit of 1-3 or 3-5 Alloy, depending on the size of the Megastructure...
